I've been trying to get an irl friend to join to contribute to political threads but he's gay and one night​ we were drinking heavily and I was shitposting in a thread about homophobia and he asked what I was doing and I explained what the thread topic was and how it was going and what the general consensus of the topic was and he decided he didn't want to post here based mostly on that. Then out of anger I started telling other users they drink piss out and after that he especially didn't want to join. I did use one of his jokes in a post though and when I showed him the dumb response it got we laughed really hard at the person who posted it so I think there is still hope.
