Why is Lupin's head drawn so skinny in this episode? Why is it that the in the old Lupin series Adult Swim showed before it was the whole team, but Part 4 and 5 it's mostly just Lupin and Jigen? So Lupin is at least 40, then? Is this Gaston character from previous series? Love hearing this VA as Gaston. So is that the French CIA? Wooooo Fujiko! Heh, don't blame her for wanting to get away from that schlub. NOOOO IT WAS LUPIN IN DISGUISE! So it's a record of all the police fuck-ups and cover-ups. Yeah so not only did I miss the AOT season finale, I missed the Fire Force series premiere! But I was stuck with how the timing of our trip ended up. Solar Year 198... that tells us nothing. I'm going to say this is a made up world. It may be the same Earth with same countries and cities etc but some different history and obviously fantasy elements. At first I thought it would be old timey until I saw the fire vehicle in the OP and the modern compact car drive by the station. WOW this show looks beautiful. Gorgeous art and animation! Looks like the art style has been toned down from Soul Eater though. Characters and other things definitely look more normal in this show. Well, except those shark teeth lol. LOL those suits look silly. So bulky, way more than real fire fighter suits. I can't imagine they will wear these the whole series. Some new more sleek version will be invented or something I bet. So there's no curing these Infernals. They just have to be put down. It's not like with Hollows unfortunately. What language were those prayers? Were all those theatrics really needed to save her from a falling light? Yeah she could have been electrocuted, but still. It's like a combination of a church and fire station. Is he making up the thing about the smile to cover his ass or being serious? Whoa whoa whoa kid you are treading on Saitama and Deku's turf! Keep this nun away from Asta. It's a real shame about that vow of celibacy, though... FAN SERVICE OUTTA NOWHERE! I was wondering how there could be fan service in this show when they are in those bulky fire fighter suits. She's literally just a regular old nun? So how do we know when Shinra is just smiling and it's not his weird thing where he can't stop himself smiling when he tenses up? Okay so there are regular fire fighters too. Good. Great God Sola. Yep it's a made up world unless everyone decided to start worshipping the sun, including largely secular Japan. And that guy is taking this well. Why does Maki wear a witch hat? So Maki manipulated the fire and just pushed it out of the way? Wait so he didn't kill her. She turned into an Infernal. Or maybe not? I see. So he's never truly smiled since then. Damn. The blue stripes... This Infernal is fast and agile. Is he just using a machine gun? Why does only the nun need a gas mask? That's a lot of power. Down with one kick? Put her out of her misery quickly at least. I think I got more of the prayer this time. But some of it is still in another language. Could that be a real smile this time? If nothing else, using just kicks will make for some different than usual fights with Shinra.

Yep, I missed the finale of season 3 Attack on Titan too! Which I had no idea it was the season finale until someone mentioned it offhand the previous week! Sucked majorly but not much I could do with how the timing worked out. The way Historia looks there as she says they should announce what they've learned. Their enemy is the world! Attack on Titan is a prequel to One Piece! The ancient civilization that was destroyed by the other countries of the world was this walled city on the island! Marley created the 100 year lost history to cover this up! The Giants are surviving regular Titans that discovered a way to keep their intelligence in their Titan form! Someone with hair like that didn't deserve to survive. Shut the hell up, Locke. LOL self-aware fodder. Fucking tell them that Erwin turned down the shot, Levi! Oh hell, Eren is seeing royal memories when he touches Historia's hand. The King could have prevented the Titan attacks... Did Eren see anything else though? So, ALL the Titans are dead? Not going to kill it. Is there any way to "cure" people that have been turned into Titans? A whole year has passed?! Eren looks much older than that. And looks like he has seen some shit. Eren is broken. ...again. Eh? The place where they release the Titans is on the island? I thought it was on the mainland. So Marley had set up a base on the Eldian island this whole time? And the king still didn't do anything? LOL. What was that look Mikasa and Armin? Yeah, they dreamed of seeing the sea, but it's not the happy dream come true that they hoped. On the other side is their enemies. What now?! Everyone who thought getting to the sea would be the ending were wrong! And how will they win?! Looks like there is some new footage in those credits? This episode I missed because I just wasn't ready in time for the block that week. Anyway - Their survival strategy of camping the entire tournament? Once again another universe fought Universe 7 fighters without knowing they are hard-countered by them. Was nice to see 17 and 18 team up again but I wish it was against a better opponent. LOL that's got to he the shittiest combiner robot I've ever seen! Okay Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan having trouble against these fools is a joke. Is Gohan actually struggling here? And he's fighting this guy on his own because he knows he's no help against Jiren and his team? What did he do to deserve this? The doctor totally did get knocked out, but okay. And now what, set off a bomb so he dies and kills everyone else, gets disqualified and ALL the universes are destroyed??

I'm pretty sure you knew I wasn't being literal. But, I have to wonder if they are doing this because they believe it fits with the series (don't know if any sort of weird voices or accents were done in Japanese,) if it's a semi-gag dub, or there is some Vince McMahon of dubbing working for Sentai that thinks this is all SUCH GOOD SHIT. This is barely related, but I remember subbies who would bitch about dubs back in the day, they would point out how Yuri Lowenthal was the only person who said any of the names right in Naruto. Their words, not mine. I'm glad most of that stupid sub vs. dub shit is gone now and people just watch their shit. At least from what I have seen, anyway. I had no idea Yuri Lowenthal was multi-lingual though. This show definitely is cheesy, maybe campy, but it's hard to tell how much of it is intentional. I mean, there's tons of over-the-top, ridiculous stuff, but most of it falls flat and comes off dumb and not funny. Yep we've seen that lol. Langris was the prodigal son and much preferred by the parents, for what a high achiever he was, where Finral was largely rejected and insulted by his parents. But, other people saw Finral for being a good person, and how awful Langris was. Langris arguably took things tougher than Finral, which we didn't know before. Perhaps there is some insecurity being projected behind that smugness. When it came time to battle, the Black Bulls were psyched up with the hope that Finral had a good change to win, and he even broke out some new moves, but Langris had some new moves of his own, which were too much for Finral to counter. Unfortunately, Langris took things too far, and seriously wounded Finral. But before he could take it any further, the Black Bulls rushed to Finral's defense, stopping Langris in his tracks. I had read the High School of the Dead manga went on hiatus after the 2011 earthquake, because the author didn't feel it was an appropriate time for an apocalyptic story while Japan was still going through that. Looks like he also had a heart condition as well, and eventually died of it in 2017. So the hiatus wasn't just because of the earthquake. I agree with you, but I still really enjoy this show for what it is. What you describe is how magic using characters would traditionally work. But yeah, a lot of anime seem to go for the one affinity thing. In Fairy Tail people have to actually learn the magic, so I suppose they focus on whatever they're best at and take to and train up those skills. It would take a lot more time and training to master multiple disciplines. In the rare case when someone can use more than one type, it's a big deal. With Black Clover it seems people are just born with a certain power that fits them. We've seen it's genetic in some cases too. Finral and his brother use spatial magic, but in different ways, the Silvas use water or liquid of some kind (Nozel's is mercury, oddly,) Mimosa and Kirsch both use plant-based magic, that other family uses fire, etc. In Naruto there were definitely some bullshit asspull retcons. Sasuke uses fire but then is also able to use lightning. Sarutobi uses like 3 or 4 different elements. Rasengan was originally described as just manipulating chakra and had nothing to do with wind element. Kakashi can copy and use tons of jutsus regardless of element, with his Sharingan. If chakra natures were always intended to be a thing then they would have been brought up early on. So of course it's just said that some people can have multiple natures and Sasuke happens to have fire and lightning, because of course he does. Hokage can have multiple because he's hax Hokage I guess. Kakashi can use all those jutsus because of Sharingan loophole I guess. It was never explained. By the way, when the last time someone even used Sharingan to copy anything? I feel like that aspect was forgotten about. There's also many characters whose powers don't clearly line up to any element. Bugs, shadows, changing body mass?? Yep, chakra natures were definitely a retcon, and should never have been put into the story in the first place.
