  1. It was bugging the hell out of me the whole time how the guy was too far from the mic and was blurry. But yeah with these extra accounts it's looking worse and worse. I really don't see Gen:lock getting season 2 if the creator was a selfish egomaniac and abused his employees. There's sure to be a stigma and bad memories attached to Gen:Lock within the company, so I can't see anyone wanting to work on it, even if they have the plans for the series and possible scripts etc.
  2. Jeez that Cammie fan art you posted is ugly, elfie. What art style is that supposed to be?
  3. But the series' creator got fired. Apparently he kept asking for things to be redone all the time and was a pain to work for and blew a lot of money. It seems unlikely that they would make more.
  4. Re-posting this picture that Dangermouse posted last week to jog the memory of who is in the Royal Knights. Except this still doesn't help me because I don't know who those rando mages are in the back! But I guess we know who the cannon fodder are! Noelle doing her smug hair flip. Some more Mereoleona art that Pinterest sent me - She looks like a Soul Reaper Captain here heh. Not sure how they are going to fight in those robes! And fun fact, purple was originally a color for royalty because the dye used to be expensive back in the old days.
  5. Black Clover Page 88 Discussion Last time on Black Clover, the Royal Knights selections were made! Asta, Noelle, and Luck were among the chosen! Mereoleona will be the captain! Zora was also made a Black Bull and one of the Royal Knights! Nozel is also along for the ride. This is sure to be crazy! Find out what happens next, tonight, on Black Clover, on Toonami!
  6. I guess so. I would think he would have at least tried to drop one of those bugs in her pocket to plant evidence on her, but nope! It also makes me wonder about the level of forensic science in this world. Hibana was able to determine that some Infernals were induced by those bugs by testing the DNA and finding the bug DNA inside the person. So is this kind of thing not standard? Especially when everyone is supposed to be trying to find out what causes human combustion? Is Hibana really out of the ordinary for testing the Infernals' bodies and remains?
  7. Not sure what is confusing here, elfie. The link I posted is how foi gras is made, and it's animal cruelty.
  8. Not that the show deserves it, but I re-watched the episode to see what was said about the whole legume thing, and also some other stuff I missed. They said Kojuro went to France, where dishes are usually meat-based (I don't even know if this is true,) and made dishes focusing on legumes, and the people started calling him the "Legume Magician." But it shows pictures of vegetables, and no legumes were in the thing he made this week. The main ingredient was cabbage. It's not claimed that cabbages are legumes, but he seems more like a vegetable guy in general than a legume guy specifically so I don't get the whole "Legume Magician" thing. The thing he made sounds disgusting, by the way. Oh and the Sailor Cabbage thing was hilarious!
  9. I just re-watched the episode. At first Rekka tells Tamaki to leave. When she doesn't, he knocks her out. Then when she wakes up he says he wanted her to live and take the blame, that he should have squeezed harder. Then Rekka says he's going go to make it look like she burned herself. So he was going to pin the blame on her... by just saying she did it? Lol.
  10. What part were you talking about?
  11. Not quite sure but I think their eyes glow when they use their powers.
  12. It's the singer of the English version of the ED. Don't remember her looking goth in any other pics!
  13. How much Gundam have you actually watched lol?
  14. Oh then yeah I agree. I thought when we met Zabuza that would build up towards showing the others later, besides just Kisame. Then by the time we see the Mist Village, it's no longer the Bloody Mist Village and has been reformed off-screen. Major disappointment. When Zabuza and Haku were first introduced, it hinted at a very interesting world just begging to be explored more. And how about all those Jinchuriki that were glossed over?!
  15. But like you said, two episodes does not a marathon make, and I was clearly talking about the Super marathon, which is the topic of the thread, so not sure why you were bringing up the Dr. Stone back-to-back airings. I had thought episode 130 was the Super finale and they were doing the marathon for that. To have the marathon for the penultimate episode and not the finale itself doesn't make much sense. "Hey guys, let's send off Dragon Ball Super with a big marathon! ... the week before the last episode airs" Ok then.
  16. The intra-company rivalries were encouraged?! Who would have thought AT&T of all companies would make things more logical. This should make getting some shows easier for Toonami then, and easier to watch some of this stuff in general. Hmm HBO Max sounds more appealing when you talk about it like that. Though I have to say I really have no interest in the HBO stuff itself. But we never had HBO either. I always remember in the old days, with those premium networks, they'd put all the good stuff on their free previews, when the channel would be on everyone's channel listing for a weekend or week or whatever it was, then when you got the actual channel it was crap. Although apparently AT&T is in debt and received criticism for its decisions? I hope it all doesn't come crashing down like a house of cards.
  17. Gotta say Demarco has lost a lot of confidence and likability points for me over the past few years, but this is something I can wholeheartedly agree with him on. People act like Chicken Little regardless of what happens with Toonami. One show pick or any other singular decision is not going to kill off Toonami. It also gets annoying when people complain about a show getting picked instead of some other show they wanted. It's not necessarily a case of a show getting picked over something else. And even if it is, that doesn't mean said show is never coming to the block just because it wasn't picked now.
  18. I thought the long wait was because they were taking all this time to make the second season as epic as the first one with all those great production values and animation. So I guess the manga is slow release and they had to wait for more material, and that animation team was busy with other projects? But yeah if we were going to wait this long anyway, I'd rather wait longer and get that same team back, unless there were some sort of company/legal/licensing reason I'm not aware of. Maybe, I don't know. They got on with Bleach pretty early compared to Japanese release, didn't they? They were behind, but not that far behind. Not sure with InuYasha, but that show probably at a time still when people didn't expect to get shows so fast after they came out in Japan. Shows could be any number of years, maybe, many years behind when a series aired in Japan, and most fans watching on TV would be none the wiser, and largely protected from spoilers, given that the internet was not nearly what it was back then that is today (and even less so in the 90s) and with the sub watching fandom being more insular and isolated. I mean, stuff like DBZ and Sailor Moon, etc was waaay behind Japan. And this was also because of the earlier years of bringing in anime, it wasn't a machine then like it is now, and networks and licensing companies were just bringing over whatever they found interesting, and it wasn't expected for everything to be new, because so many shows had not been brought over yet that were worth bringing over. Some people said it was because Fairy Tail was too kiddy, but I'm not sure about that. I mean in that case it could have gone on daytime TV. I also thought animation quality might be an issue, but I dunno if that was ever cared about as long as a show was popular enough, it had a good chance it might do well on TV. It is definitely a shame Fairy Tail got short-changed like that, but it seems to have a decent following nevertheless, at least. I loved Rave Master, and after re-watching it during the SyFy airing, I read the rest of the manga, which was great. So since Fairy Tail was by the same author I was very interested in it. I read the first volume of the manga and liked it, then got side-tracked with other things, and then just decided I would just wait to watch the anime until ASA or Toonami got it. Well, that was a mistake, one which I won't make again. I was so sure Toonami would air it. But since then I'm not going to hold off on watching something if I am really interested, since I missed out watching and discussing a lot of the show as it was newly airing. And I have to say I was extremely annoyed when Demarco said at one point that he not even watched the show. And this was after it was highly requested for a long time. Gill had, at least. I think a reason they gave is there wasn't room for the show. But then when several openings happened and they got other long-runners, it really did come across like they were actively deciding not to air it, or at least putting those other series above it in priority. They would have been way behind and it has been widely available and watched online regardless, so I dunno'. I just found this. It's an old post now, though. And not sure on the time frame, but it seems odd they aren't bringing up Super? Not sure if it was already on the block by then or out in Japan yet or not. But I have to say it would be even more odd for Toonami to air Fairy Tail now that it's almost over. Then again they are airing Shippuden that is not only over, but hundreds of episodes behind, itself. But Demarco had said that it's not their goal to air all of Shippuden. So presumably that means they are airing it to have a dependable crowd pleaser to fill time for a long time on the block, and if they are able to air all of it, that's great, but it's not the end of the world if they can't for whatever reason. And of course they have Boruto as the "current" Naruto material. Sad face at the One Piece comment, lol, but it's probably correct, and there is a show I need to get back to watching lol. Those shows and many others. Some of those you mentioned and others seem like shoo-ins. Toonami did at least air Soul Eater and a few other shows that ASA dropped the ball on, more or less acknowledging that they should have aired these shows but Toonami is at least making things right, even if it's well after the fact. I remember people were upset that Kekkaishi was picked and not Soul Eater, and that Demarco tweet reminds me of that backlash lol. Eden of the East was the other one people wanted back then. I think a lot of shows from that era are out of luck since ASA never aired them, but Toonami wouldn't have the room to air all these older shows with still trying to bring in a lot of in-demand newer shows. I wonder how many good shows we could have gotten if ASA had the kind of output Toonami has during its duration. I sure would not mind seeing more these types of "should have aired" shows every once in a while, though. Still again, those shows you listed are more examples of the lesson to not "save" shows for ASA, now Toonami, even though it's a great experience to watch and discuss with everyone. I definitely need to make time watch more shows outside of Toonami just in general. When I was thinking of troll requests, I was thinking of the period piece that had comedic homoreotic stuff in it. It was about soldiers, or something? Not sure. But looks like Golden Kamuy is something completely different, so not a troll request I don't think. I still never saw Panty and Stocking. Should probably get around to watching it one of these days. What was the reason why they wouldn't air it? Content? Is it really more extreme than Kill la Kill though? Or because they don't like it? I still think it's really stupid to not air something just because they don't personally like it, though. That's not how business works! Also do they take an internal poll or something, or does Demarco have to like it? Because I find it hard to believe that everyone working at Toonami always agrees on what shows they like or dislike. The whole thing is very silly. Whew, that was quite a tangent I got on.
  19. The Mobile Armor fight really made it seem like more would end up being released and they'd have to fight them, and it would be like what happened during that old war, with these legendary old monsters returning to wreak havoc on the world once again. Like I felt that was the beginning of something really awesome. But, instead, that other stuff happened... and yeah.
  20. Demarco had said before that companies still acted very separate and it wasn't really easier to get stuff that was in the hands of a sister company. I think that came up with JoJo? But I guess that has changed now. Yeah they definitely weren't careful with their money! Apparently this Gray guy was constantly changing and redoing things that were already finished!
  21. I've seen their videos in my recommended before and rolled my eyes. I looked at their feed. They've got lots of videos complaining about Star Wars, Disney, Marvel, there's two video thumbnails with Zoe Quinn that they photoshopped having evil glowing eyes. I'm not sure how much we can take them seriously. But just looking at this video, they seemed pretty "normal" and just laid out the information they had. If that stuff is all true, then yeah, not good, and signs that were pointing towards this coming to a head sooner or later. Don't know how widely this was known or if Toonami would have known about it though.
  22. It has before and probably can again. And like CountFrylock said, the people who just watch Dragon Ball and don't care about other anime didn't stay after Super or Kai anyway. So maybe they can get a show that will have better retention. Or just have to deal with a smaller audience for Toonami, if Dragon Ball got more people to stay than we thought. But with long-runners largely a thing of the past, they are going to have to get really creative. I guess just put whatever they think is their current heaviest hitter at the start of the block for as many episodes of it that they have.
  23. What are you talking about? They're airing the penultimate episode of Super, followed by a marathon of the episodes preceding it and then that episode again at the end of the block. Then the week after that they are airing the last Super episode followed by the regular block. It would make a lot more sense if the marathon was done on the night the final episode aired.
  24. Eh? I totally missed the Sailor Moon foodgasm!
