OOOOOOOOOH. So aaaaaallll that bullshit... Ruining the Sasuke and Itachi story (even though it wasn't the best it got the job done), retconning multiple plotlines and character motivations, ruining Itachi's character, was to get Sasuke to go after the Leaf Village?! REALLY?! God damn it Kishimoto. There were plenty of other ways you could do that. Sasuke was already apathetic to them. Not too hard to steer him towards hatred and declare war on them. I mean, he's already fought against them several times! This is just... uugghhh. It's like he doesn't even read his own manga.

Okay Itachi never sounded this nice. He was always kind of a dick to Sasuke. This is fucking stupid.

Kishi is trying to retcon it by making it more flowery and pleasant than it ever was. When you go back and watch this Itachi is always pretty much being kind of a dick to Sasuke.
