it looks like toonami's current plan really is just "Reruns until this situation gets better"..... not sure how to feel about that

Mob Psycho 100 S1 Rerun Discussion Thread
CountFrylock replied to 3ngag3's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
why does it seem like toonami's plan is "Reruns until this covid-19 situation blows over"? i honestly think that's what it is and if that's the case....that's pretty stupid because this isn't going away anytime soon so i hope they aren't depending on reruns to carry the block until a treatment or cure -
eh we shall see....if covid-19 cases decline enough in 2 months where they can do that without it backfiring horribly
-
Smoothie is the first PW4 DLC announced by namco
-
true but this is just a hatsune miku game not some loot box riddled shooter
-
even if they become overrun with an ungodly amount of new cases and deaths?....we won't even be without anime and manga for a month if what you say is true and for the second part i haven't really noticed much aside from talk shows and skit shows like SNL doing the recording from home here in the united states so what else is being recorded from home?
-
so you think we'll have a reliable treatment by August? that seems fairly optimistic
-
still now brewster or fortune teller katrina
-
no doubt about it...i mean jeez even adultswim referenced animal crossing
-
the costumes aren't DLC(the only dlc i can find for this happens to be song packs)
-
Movies are costly and i think toonami would rather spend that cash on older anmies they skipped out on previously since they have no idea how long it'll before normalcy returns and they actually have a pool of new shows to shift through instead of "Everything's on hold" due to corona virus it would be a very bad idea to just have the block be movies or a mixture of tired old reruns and marathons...this is the new normal they shouldn't try to act like this is a temporary setback they'll shrug off very soon
-
this does make me wonder....What Toonami will replace MHA with in the lead role....I Doubt toonami would have MHA Reruns running while there's MHA Reruns on the weekday lineup plus MHA S4 Reruns has already aired reruns and only makes sense to do so again if the break was brief but due to the slow down(caused from dubbing at home)....it won't be brief

Demarco has stated many times before...movies are done on toonami they won't air anymore...

it's still gonna be an insane hiatus since we're talking a sickness with no cure or treatment(none for the next 12-18 months anyways) so the chances of the anime industry returning in the near future are very slim from the facts we have thrown at us via various news outlets(including international ones)
-
doesn't matter how much time they have if they can't even afford to buy anymore video games due to unemployment it's not a win for the industry
-
it's out next week at a price of $24.99
-
not to mention video games....there's not much too look forward to this year...except more bad news of the corona virus killing more people
-
reruns are fine as a short term solution but if we're here same time next year and anime production is still halted then what's the plan? black clover's going on indefinite hiatus until further notice in japan btw.... https://mobile.twitter.com/WSJ_manga/status/1253171277814067201

because MHA is off the block after the next episode(no dubbed episode ready in time for the week afterwards)and they need something to shove in there quickly considering the slowdown funimation has due to dubs at home they'll need some more time to finish out the MHA Season

Hazbin Hotel - Hell is getting interest in your animated pilot
CountFrylock replied to Jman's topic in Movies & Television
still...with just the pilot you don't really know enough about the characters to buy merchandise with them on it -
Hazbin Hotel - Hell is getting interest in your animated pilot
CountFrylock replied to Jman's topic in Movies & Television
yeah i doubt that will work...how many indie animated shows do you see on youtube?(not many...) regardless i think it's kind of silly how there's already so much merchandise for a show that's just a pilot with the statement being "the money you spend on shirts and pins goes towards the show!" but when you only have a pilot....it's kind of difficult to buy merchandise and promote something that may not even come out for all we know leaving the merchandise as some reminder of what could have been -
if cowboy bebop takes the lead spot soon...I'll just shake my head anytime a rerun has taken the lead role it's never turned out well....
-
it's a return of an old beat em up series so it's not really everyone's cup of tea I'll admit
-
yeah basically there's a bunch of those
