  2. Can't say I'm surprised by this. As for the season itself, I'm just hoping it adapts up to anywhere before a certain point.
  3. Also, I find it super suspicious that the Promised Neverland S2 promo didn't air once during any of the shows I watched, like it aired only during the Super rerun with maybe an encore during the Demon Slayer rerun. Like, does Toonami know it's shit and that's why they're pulling a Lazzo and limiting the promo's airtime? 12:00 - Dragon Ball Super #110 - Goku Enkindled! 4. ATTACK ON TITAN - I don't exactly know what a "Petard" is, but Zachary was certainly hoist by his own, even if it was through it being rigged with explosives and killing him. Wasn't expecting him to get offed this early, so it's nice to see I'm still unspoiled about some things in Titan. FOOD WARS - Erina's dad may be a total dickbag, but goddamn Ian Sinclair's delivery of his lines is just perfect, especially in a dub of inferior technical quality to FUNi's regular output. It may take a while, if at all, before Erina's really "likable", but it's nice to see people got her back in these dark times she's going through. Also, isn't it more than a little fishy that the Council of Ten passed a majority rule vote without input from all of the members, because Isshiki and Erina not knowing what went on seems a little convenient. FIRE FORCE - Maki's family is great, though the baby-talk is indeed an acquired taste. It's still weird seeing Tamaki in a nun outfit, but at least she didn't lose it this time. BLACK CLOVER - The one episode where Gauche isn't nosebleeding over his imouto, and it's the one where he and Gordon are mistaken for child predators. It was an awkward one. 😅 GRIDMAN - That finale was awesome and everything and I would wholeheartedly rewatch it but holy shit reading up on its TV Tropes page made me realize I'm nowhere near otaku enough to appreciate it on all fronts. 9.9/10, Dynazenon wen Demarco? SHIPPUDEN - The moment I saw the orphanage Kabuto grew up in, I was all, "holy shit, that's the orphanage he's running for all those clones in Boruto!" It's nice to see he kept the glasses his nun-caretaker gave him, even after going off the deep end.
  5. Cosmo Samurai (rewatch) Another bit of direction analysis for Kunoichi. Though Tsuru's influence isn't as 100% here - no surprise, since he had an assistant director helping him out - there are still notable tics of his present, most notably his habit of using in medias res storytelling for quick establishment. The opening shot of the blank wall with the off-screen siren effect and TOM and SARA talking over it was a nice little touch, as was the visual introduction to the Cosmo Samurai crew being through a first-person perspective of TOM shutting down in space, then booting back up on their ship. I expect Tsuru to have at least some involvement in the Shenmue anime, since it's from Cosmo Samurai's studio and the director was an animation collaborator on many of his works.
  6. Yep, both series aired at Midnight. And ironically, WOWOW's timeslot was Gridman's best. Tokyo MX and BS11 aired it at 1AM, while Mainichi Broadcasting aired it at 2:08 in the morning. So yeah, it kinda got gipped on Toonami, not that I care since I stopped caring about the ratings and DVR everything anyway.
  7. Speaking of Gridman's timeslots, did you know that its premieres on WOWOW Prime shared the exact same time, day of the week and everything, as the first 12 episodes of SAO Alicization on Tokyo MX? [the more you know]
  8. Boooooooooo get your negative line of thinking outta here! There's probably a doujin of that out there somewhere.

Not as raunchy as its predecessor, but somehow more likely to spark outrage while having none of the rape. Also coming soon are Basquash! and SK8 the Infinity, two series I won't be doing screencaps or clips for, but instead will be churning out plenty of ACTN block mock-ups to help get me back into that sorta deal.
  10. Eh, I don't think Todd is in any danger of being persona non grata'd to the lengths that Vic has, even though the frequency of roles he's been scoring has significantly decreased since his own #MeToo moment. There might be one or two soundalikes for him that I've heard before, but I can't name them off the top of my head.
  11. You say that like Toonami airing Stone Ocean isn't a good thing.

  15. FUN FACT: If I posted this when I initially wanted to, Golden Wind's rank would've been #69.
  16. Like I said, the lay-offs affected them. Overall, I give it a 6/10. Neat concept and execution, especially the fact that they referenced [as] jr. in the past, but it being a 45-minute prank with a repeat run is more than a little lame, and despite that, I don't think I could take a whole night of it. Better luck next year.
  17. Yeah, Gridman deserves much higher than its actual placement. Though personally, I was expecting SAO 2 to be higher than it actually is. Guess AIDS-chan really didn't sit well with the franchise stans.
  18. I dunno, maybe? I mean, despite being credited as director all the way through Mamoru Kanbe had no hands-on involvement past storyboarding for episode 5, so him dropping out of the production, be it the result of handsy relatives or something macroscopically more plausible, wouldn't be out of the question behind how it wound up sucking so bad.
  19. Probably won't be anything complex or irreverent, thanks to the lay-offs having resulted in much of the [as] staff losing their jobs there, but hopefully it's fun enough for me to feel at least a little bit satisfied.
  20. I was skipping my way through an old VHS tape from 2005 this [as] archivist I know on YouTube/Discord posted today, and wound up watching episode 6 of The Super Milk-Chan Show in its entirety. Not sure why I did that, but it was something. Truly the Pop Team Epic of its day.
