Promised Neverland Season 2 premieres on Toonami April 10th
PokeNirvash replied to 3ngag3's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I dunno, Inuyasha Final Act's problem wasn't so much that it was a poor adaptation, just that the pacing for the first bunch of episodes was too lightning-quick for even the above-average viewer. I thought the pacing settled out well past the 1/3 point and the ending conclusive and understandable. -
Promised Neverland Season 2 premieres on Toonami April 10th

You know, to "celebrate" the ending of Neverland S2, I'm thinking about doing another listing of all the anime aired by [as]/Toonami in order of MAL score/popularity. -

Gungrave 14 (rewatch) I've finally decided to get back deep into the groove of hypothetical anime writing by officially beginning work on Kinky Kunoichi Season 2, but before doing so, I did two things. First, was post a side story on DeviantArt for the BDSM coomer crowd who liked the original Kunoichi image by Jam-Orbital. And second, was kick off the "direction analysis" (formerly "directorial analysis") process for each episode by watching something previously attributed to Toshiyuki Tsuru, the understated anime director whose approach to direction influenced my decision to list him as Kunoichi's director in the hypothetical staff list for season 1. Handling the season premiere as storyboarder and director (at least, for the first third), I thought a grand start to my analysis of his craft (which I've done before during season 1) was watch another of his works to get the right feel. Last time, I started out with episode 82 of Naruto Shippuden; this time, I started out with episode 14 of Gungrave; the only episode he personally directed of the one full series he acted as director for. Still one of my favorite anime episodes of all time. 100/10.

Trunks Thread 19.1: A New New Frontier

Well now, can't say I was expecting this to come out of my burnout. I've always enjoyed reading through your comments, TG, even if some of them are tough to get through by way of being oppositions to my own "eh, I'm enjoying it in its own way" opinions. (For all it's worth, I've gotten much better about that since 2013/2014.) Even as a general overview, complete with the obligatory "Fuck SAO" paragraph, I'm happy to see you get back in the game, if ultimately as a one-time substitution for my own takes. Thanks man, I really appreciate the impromptu tag-in. -

Man, I just don't have it in me for comments this week. I'd supplement with comments from the /co/ discussion, but considering this week had a #StopAsianHate bumper that I'm 99.9% confident they'll complain about for being "forced", I'm gonna steer clear this week. So I dunno. Guess I'll be taking my first true week off from premiere comments in a while. Holy crap, I don't think I've breaked from nights I've watched since Kekkaishi first premiered... Oh well, next week I'll come up with somethin'. -

Of course, we're not gonna be like ANN where we force the why out of you with subtle threat of deletion. I still think deleting posts is a foreign concept on this board... Corpse Princess: Kuro 9 Pacific Rim: The Black 1 The kaiju fighting aspects are cool and all...

ATTACK ON TITAN - Sasha may be dead, but she lives on in our hearts and memories, and also this show's flashback sequences, which is good enough for me. Still, dammit Gabi why couldn't you have shot someone else? Why couldn't you have shot Floch? FOOD WARS - I actually put off watching this one for as long as I could after Spectrum spoiled me on Soma getting in the red this episode, but things managed to work themselves out. I enjoy Alice's weird ideas on what "her" restaurant should do making Hayama constantly ask himself, "Why me?". REPLY TO ANGEL: "What kind of pretentious sack of shit demands reservations for their school festival booth." That's Erina for you, so terrible that her fandom is entirely unexplainable by any logical metric. I also like Soma and Sadatsuka getting along right off the bat. Seasonal reminder that Mayumi is just a more spineless version of Megumi and her existence isn't really needed. FIRE FORCE - I feel no shame that my first two thoughts upon seeing Haumea pseudo-electrocute Arrow were the Sideboob Hour and Mr. Body Massage Machine. Ritsu's power's fucked up but I still enjoy her character design. Nataku's psychological breakdown was fun to watch too. And let me tell you, it is so weird seeing Arthur this dementedly excited about everything. I actually like him better as a deadpan chuuni. BLACK CLOVER - In lieu of anything regarding this honestly blah filler episode, here's something from real life. In one of those conversational swerves, I told my dad about Asta wanting to fuck the nun, and the impression he made of him afterwards (because dads) sounded extremely dopey, like he was voiced by Barney the Dinosaur. I think that was partly on me for calling Asta "so goddamn stupid". GRIDMAN - Best episode, best show, fuck anyone who disagrees, especially those vindictive assclowns on /co/ who called me a Discord tranny because I didn't hate Gemusetto 2 with every fiber of my being like the rest of their flock. SHIPPUDEN - All I'll say is, wasn't exactly expecting several minutes of this episode to be Onoki backstory. That, plus his subsequent laser-beam action, was kinda neat. -
B: The Beginning 10-12 America-style ensemble crime drama + edgy 2000's headcanon mythology = multi-layered big brain anime experience. 9.5/10, would gladly watch a third time if and when the opportunity presents itself.

It's more likely that Judge will have Luanne and Lucky move out of Arlen to avoid the risk of pissing off the audience by killing them off, like how the Simpsons handled Ms. Krabappel after Marcia Wallace's passing.

It’s here: Mugen Train hits N.A. theaters in April.
PokeNirvash replied to saito34's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Zenitsu being a whiny bitch upon his proper introduction was strike one. Him claiming the little kid saved him from the demon he sleep-killed was strike two. Him screeching like a lunatic over Tanjiro keeping Nezuko from him - preventing Tanjiro from introducing her as his sister - and then chasing her around in a daze while she runs away from him in the most flighty manner imaginable, further proving that everyone's burrito daughteru is a non-character in any episode where she doesn't even have internal dialogue, was strike two and a half. Still waiting on strike three. -
That could be an idea for this thread's second edition, which despite the lack of a maximum cap for total posts, we're long overdue for after 4.3 repeating years of just the one thread.

Promised Neverland Season 2 premieres on Toonami April 10th
PokeNirvash replied to 3ngag3's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
We all did, why wouldn't they, after airing season 1 in the back-end rerun slot and giving it a full-run marathon night? That said, regardless of the season's actual quality - which isn't good, based on what I've read and the 6.93 MAL score - should be interesting to watch either way. [and so the wait for dr. stone s2 continues] -

Whether I gladly risk my life in the theater or seek it out through more at-home means, I'm definitely watching this considering it is absolutely plot relevant and starting season 2 without seeing this would be way too confusing for the casual Toonami-watcher crowd of the Demon Slayer audience I'm a part of. -
