Fist of the North Star is one of my favorite comics ever (at least till Shura ends) so imagining their proper counterparts dealing with the Y7 villains becomes outright hilarious.

You mean the fact that other people like figure skating? Sure, that's fine. It is an Olympic sport after all. It just looks lame, and Blades of Glory was hilarious about it (to me, although that film was a financial success). Although this does go into the long standing issues most Americans have with sports anime, a genre that traditionally does very poorly in the US (ask about sales of Big Windup! as an example.)

Figure skating is lame. That was half the plot of Blades of Glory, that their loophole made the sport look lamer than it was.

The audience doesn't come for OP. DeMarco has said in numerous interviews he's gone to bat to prevent the show from facing its well deserved cancellation. Other shows lack this luxury.

It is not representative of the series at all. Part 1 is solitary action/horror, while Part II ups the comedy and Part III redoes how the fighting is done. Parts II and III with Archer would have been absolute gold.

Part of me wonders if I am biased against Toonami shows. OP sucks but maybe if it wasn't on Toonami it would suck less.

While neither offend me the way SAO does with AIDS, it's difficult to say if KSK or Wulin was worse. Wulin was bad editing, King Star King was built to suck from the ground up. So I would say KSK.
