Toonami’s legendary advertising at it again. Remember when Peter Cullen would narrate two minute previews? Because they still act like Fox Kids is their main competition?

Actually Hasbro did try to put all their crap in a shared universe a few years back and then backtracked when the comics meant to get the idea going went over like wet fish. Also Mattel owns both properties and tied them together as far back as the 80’s with She-Ra’s show frequently having the two team up (presumably so boys would tune in). They’ve always been joined at the hip till Dreamworks came along and Mattel has shown...displeasure with the arrangement.

If it was a hit, Mattel would have Dreamworks make more of their stuff, and trust them with He-Man. Instead they hire Kevin “Clerks” Smith and the Castlevania animators to make the complete opposite.

Oh, that. Mattel is framing it as a middle finger to She Ra because they don’t own the rights to the show, Dreamworks does, thanks to a licensing deal outside their purview. So they made this show they control directly and shoved it on Netflix because She-Ra isn’t what they would release and apparently were told to pound sand when they offered suggestions.

Pretty much. It also explains why the Feds were losing the war despite numerical superiority. This version of the Guncannon is perfectly suitable as an anti-ship and armor weapon ala the old Guntanks. But it is woefully unprepared to actually attack other mobile suits. Hence Tem Ray’s next project.

I’m getting a similar vibe to Cannon Busters, since that show DESPERATELY wants to be Trigun to the point you just kinda want them to fire the guy after one season and just make a proper Trigun Maximum anime. Everyone has pointed out the cliches present in the show, but it makes you want to watch the show it rips off. And again, they have failed, completely and bafflingly, to leverage the greatest asset the show, its cast.

Well they’re idiots then. Just having animu isn’t enough when everyone has the stuff!

Weird considering that’s the BIGGEST DRAW OF THE SHOW.

Cannon Busters 2. This show wants to be Trigun so badly. But if they cancel it after one season in favor of a proper Trigun Maximum anime I will have zero sympathy.

Same reason they pick up JoJo. Keep it off competitors like Netflix.

It’s Jordan’s production company that’s a co-producer. I’m sure he would sit down if it meant getting a Season 2 greenlit, and DeMarco could be arsed to set it up.

I am still convinced High Guardian Spice doesn’t exist and is merely a scam mentioned to make fan service heavy or controversial shows more popular with faux outrage. That’s why Goblin Slayer will return and we will assuredly be getting more Shield Hero. gen:Lock is apparently getting tie-in comics from DC as well. The fact that no one is leveraging these resources remains baffling. Seriously, have TOM interview David Tenant! It’s better than a speech!
