  1. The logo that they were teasing the film with was confused by people as being the Brand of Sacrifice from Berserk...then people thought it was the symbol from a comic called Nameless.
  2. No because it’s a Netflix exclusive.
  3. Why do you think Netflix is greenlighting everything pitched to them outside the 23rd street Whole Foods? Their mass acquisition of product is essentially an attempt to fill the gaping hole losing all the Disney and Marvel stuff will cause. The hope is DC Universe goes belly up and they go scrambling back to Netflix saying they’re sorry. Fuck, you and I could probably pitch them a show and it would at least get a six episode order. I mean, they are apparently airing a live action One Piece with the same budget as freaking Game of Thrones.
  4. Episode IX - “Yeah Last Jedi kinda sucked.”
  5. Noticed something fun. AS On Demand has JoJo Part 3 random episodes until May 9. I think after that it’s gonna show up on Netflix. And given how well Parts I and II did for them, it will be fun to see if it gets a new, bigger audience outside of Toonami.
  6. I can’t really care about it when this sort of deconstruction has been done before. At least it’s not Berserk like everyone thought it would be at first.
  7. ...Corgi’s aren’t that hard to find. Brooklyn 99 has one. Why would you do that?!
  8. It also probably won’t do too hot in ratings.
  9. Them passing on it for Promised Neverland is probably indicative of a new strategy where they avoid the shows that light up the internet in favor of shining a spotlight on the lesser known.
  10. Magic Knight Rayearth 9-10.
  11. Looks like Toonami intends to hold onto JoJo for now.
  12. Martin Scorsese is a producer and Robert DeNiro is in it. I’m more interested than I would be in say, Sanic.
  13. Considering his love of Bebop...you sure?
  14. We have a cast list, with John Cho as Spike. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/john-cho-star-netflixs-cowboy-bebop-1199457 When asked for comment, Jason DeMarco presumably just went “Fuck Netflix” 50 times.
  15. Not an official one. Those were third party machines from AT Games and were kinda shoddy as a result. Sega is making this in house. Just put Truxton on it and we’ll call it even.
  16. I just know how this ends. And the answer is “Not well.”
  17. DeMarco is editing it harder? This will just drive people to places where it won’t be edited. Can’t he see that?
  18. Ah yes, Beware the Batfleck. At least this isn’t Y7. But yeah, that’s what I meant. Golden Wind probably won’t air unless it is to spite Netflix. And JoJo, despite its meme status, has never been huge for Toonami. If it suddenly does for Netflix, that is rather damning.
  19. All that being said, I’m gonna laugh so hard if JoJo gets booted off Toonami...and Stardust Crusaders becomes a massive hit for Netflix aka Orange is the New Black or something. DeMarco might finally have that nervous breakdown.
  20. Actually wouldn’t be the first time Leo was attached to an anime adaptation that went nowhere. He actually turned down Episode VII in favor of signing on as Roy Fokker in a Robotech movie. Since those rights are a completely dumpster fire that will only be resolved when Harmony Gold loses the rights in 2021, the movie never got made. https://geektyrant.com/news/2013/7/24/leonardo-dicaprio-turns-down-star-wars-for-robotech Disclaimer - I like Leonardo DiCaprio as an actor and thought Revenant was a work of art.
  21. https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2019/04/02/live-action-akira-to-shoot-in-california-leonardo-dicaprio-producing?utm_source=community_cr&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=news&referrer=community_cr_twitter_news Insert bear joke from The Revenant here.
  22. They listed it on their front page as a trending show and it’s getting a metric ton of social media traffic. When it’s in the Top Viewed section next to freaking INFINITY WAR, something is up.
