    They're intentionally going after ideas that are either too hard or what people say is impossible to adapt into an anime so there's little competition for them.

    Another wildly different GAINAX anime is Panty and Stocking. That's more for whenever you're feeling raunchy, given what the title is.

    of course Rick doesn't care. He tweeted today that he hates the justice system anyway and that "now's the time where the fans do it themselves." Another user I saw tweeted that he may get a gun. So wonderful. Now we may have a domestic terrorist in this plot.

    There are still a ton more anime today, but there were A LOT more than 10 anime 20 years ago. It only feels like that because we didn't have this amount of anime being licensed, and Netflix/Amazon/Hulu didn't exist yet.

    It's great for a break from life for a few minutes. And the 11-minute format means Toonami can breeze through it in 6 weeks by airing 2 episodes in a night.
