  1. Schumer's legal weed bill is finally here https://www.politico.com/news/2022/07/21/schumer-legal-weed-bill-00047058 "The legislation includes both Democratic and Republican priorities: It expunges federal cannabis-related records and creates funding for law enforcement departments to fight illegal cannabis cultivation. It also establishes grant programs for small business owners entering the industry who are from communities disproportionately hurt by past drug laws, requires the Department of Transportation to research and develop a nationwide standard for marijuana-impaired driving, and restricts the marketing of cannabis to minors." Seems like a good bill to me. It lets States decide if they want it to be legal or not, expunges records of MJ convictions, and provides funding to track down illegal grows as well as research a way to test if you are high or not. Sadly this wont pass because of something *coughbigpharmacough* *coughciacough* but its really only a matter of time before this passes. Public opinion is just so heavily pro-legalize at this point that nothings going to stop it forever.
  2. No idea who the twitter handle is but the video is pretty good. Pelosi bolted when people asked about her husband purchasing all that nvidia stock right before Congress started work on dropping $80 Billion into their laps. What amazing foresight by her husband to time that so perfectly.
  3. He's probably fine, but no guarantee. He is absolutely in the high risk category. Having been boosted will greatly improve his odds of surviving, but its no guarantee. Covid isnt going anywhere. Its endemic at this point. With vaccines and treatments the danger of covid is greatly reduced, but not gone. NYT this morning had an article saying that we will probably have between 100,000 and 300,000 deaths a year for the foreseeable future. Thats a pretty damn high number.
  4. Oooooooh shit. Biden is in a high-risk category, so this isnt really ideal.
  5. I heard that Eddie O did that himself. Supposedly the Hawks were surprised that he signed a deal with the Kraken. I think they trade Kane. No way do they not try and get something for him. he can probably still get a 1st round pick depending on where he goes. Towes may stay, but Kane is a gonner.
  6. Normally that might matter, but I dont think it will. Even with his health problems Fetterman is a stronger candidate than Warnock. The only reason Warnock won in the first place is because Trump imploded the GOP in 2020 after he lost. GA is still a red state, and thats going to show. Walker also has the advantage of Kemp looking to cruise to a victory over Abrams, and Biden being historically unpopular. Those two things will likely drag Walker over the finish line. Oz doesnt have a popular GOP nominee for the Gov to help pull him along. If anything, that GOP nom is the most dangerous in the nation. His views are completely wacko and dont belong anywhere near government. While Bidens unpopularity will help, the fact that two deeply unpopular candidates are running for the GOP at the same time will hurt them both. I still think that GA flips solidly Red while PA flips Blue, and even that might change if Bidens popularity crashes anymore than it already has.
  7. But he has a lot more local popularity. Dr Oz is basically a carpetbagger from NJ trying to win in Penn. Walker at least has deep ties to GA
  8. Yup. Hes been linked to the blues basically since the day he was drafted. Calgary has always suspected he would bolt to the blues the second he became a UFA. After losing Gaudreau they are basically not risking it anymore. Calgary going to tear it down rather than risk losing him for nothing.
  9. Sureeeee sounds like Tkachuk is going to be traded to the Blues. Sounds like he wont sign a long term deal in Calgary.
  10. So uh, you archived the NHL thread. I need mah hockey thread! Stuff is happening that needs to be posted about so the 4 of us who follow the NHL can talk about it.
  11. The only reason that the GOP isnt going to win easily in PA and GA is because they nominated two uniquely bad candidates. I still think that GA flips to the GOP, but PA probably doesnt. Dr oz is just so cringe worthy bad that he probably tanks what should be an easy win in a national climate like this.
  12. I mean, thats not completely outside of the realm of possibilities.
  13. ........when? Cuase your probably right, it just may be a few years lol
  14. Broncos going to make the playoffs this year
  15. If your really curious then what I am saying is that Democrats are completely and totally fucked both this year and probably again in 2024. That poll is just one of many signs pointing to a complete and total collapse of Biden, and Democrats in general, among the American electorate. Biden's at a robust 38% approval in the RCP average, which is a historic low that even Trump didnt stay at for long. The Right Track/ Wrong Track numbers are just as bad. The GOP are holding a historic lead on the generic ballot question. Economic indexes are going the wrong way, and the vast majority of people do not approve of Biden's handling of the economy. Democrats have hemorrhaged support from Hispanics in a way that will have huge electoral ramifications. Everything is setting up for a historic night for the GOP in November, and very likely a follow up in 2024. Biden has done all of then when the opposition party is being taken over by people who literally tried to start a Civil War when they lost an election. That shows just how insanely bad Biden has been. When faced with a choice between Biden and a party dominated by Trump loving maniacs, people are looking at the maniacs and saying "yea, thats the better choice". Biden is going to go down in history as one of, if not the, worst President in US history. And thats when the direct comparison Donald freaking Trump.
  16. You pretty clearly havent been paying attention if thats what you think I am advocating for.
  17. Poll: Just 18% of Americans say Biden should run for reelection in 2024 — a new low https://news.yahoo.com/poll-just-18-of-americans-say-biden-should-run-for-reelection-in-2024-a-new-low-140538311.html "Just 18% of Americans say President Biden should run for reelection in 2024, according to the latest Yahoo News/YouGov poll — the lowest number to date. Nearly two-thirds (64%) say he should bow out. And for the first time, more Democrats now say Biden should pass on a second term (41%) than say he should pursue one (35%). The survey of 1,672 U.S. adults, which was conducted from July 8 to July 11, represents perhaps the starkest evidence to date of the president’s deteriorating position with voters — including those in his own party. Since late May, the number of Americans who say Biden should run for reelection has fallen by 7 points; among Democrats, that number has fallen by 8 points."
  18. He better! I have a streak of picking really well, forgetting a full week, then crashing out of the top 3 to continue.
  19. Im not sure. The sports threads are megathreads that get pinned. Pooh said it best, they may need to be pinned in the new folder as well. Theres still stuff happening in the off-season though. NHL just had its draft, and free agency is tomorrow. So those are pretty big days for the sport. The politics threads are trickier. We have the general election tracking megathreads, but we also post single threads for bigger events or stories.
  20. So sports and politics are going to operate in the same folder?
  21. Hawks are going into full blown rebuild mode. I think Kane gets traded sooner than later.
  22. Interesting. Will be interesting to see how this works out.
