So: I put it in my mouth. Sometimes I chew if i feel like it. I scarf it down my throat and then wait for 30-120 minutes on average, sometimes with intermittent stomach pains. I then expel it from my bowels, sometimes in an explosive manner, back from whence it came. Repeat step 2-3 as many times necessary. But in all seriousness, I go through periods where I will get fast food once or twice a week. I just like it as a guilty pleasure. It is usually 80-20 odds in favor of me not getting gastrointestinal pains and sickness, but when I do, it is bad haha the only one that never seems to hurt me is Taco Bell.

While I think Sci-Fi is not the most popular genre in Japan, there are definitely successful Sci-Fi anime over there. The episodic nature of Space Dandy could have been a turn off for some. I think that the biggest reason it was financially unsuccessful in Japan is that it was marketed more towards the western audience, and not as much in Japan, their largest market by far at the time. Even though it is a great anime and was popular in America, it ultimately fell from the public's attention after a while. And in Japan it was even less noticed. I do honestly think it comes down to marketing and the time it came out. Just my opinion though.

I think that is maybe what SW is speaking towards. Even though it premiered a day earlier in america, Japan was still the primary market. Japan is where a lot of the marketing, merchandising, etc. would be, even more so back then when it came out. It is more easily viewed as a financial flop, not that it was not a good show. I mean how much money did it make over in America? I did not see a lot of merchandising. Maybe some DVD sales and licensing? I think there was a manga adaptation as well so maybe that sold some here. IDK. But the primary market for these projects is almost always Japan. Though it has been changing in years of late. I do think it would do better over there in today's times. I am not sure how they marketed it over in Japan either.

sports NFL 2022/23 DUCK, DUCK, MONKEY POX NOW WITH 1% LESS COVID

So apparently he only had to be resuscitated once, on the field. He is currently in a medically induced coma while they perform tests. Could go either way but I am hoping that he wakes up. Who knows what full damage and recovery are though, I do not think the family has released test results yet. -

The whole community seems to have been rug-pulled by this. I have had friends say it eerily feels like the 9/11 of NFL, but not because of malice or evil. I think this is so shocking because it comes down to Hamlin being in the wrong place at the right time. It was a standard hit. He got up and then boom. Kind of shows that it could happen to any player. So glad to see everyone coming together. Aside from the idiots on twitter screeching that this is due to vaccines.. -

Was watching and absolutely jarred. Stayed off social media because it was getting cooky. Definitely one of the worst things I have seen in NFL. Totally surreal and solemn. Thoughts and prayers. -

FLCLassic New Year's Eve 2022-2023 Discussion!!
atomicinumatt replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
Sorry guys haha I did not get home until nearly 3am last night. I put [as] west on and watched like 10 minutes of FLCL before dying on the sofa. Did not wake up today until 2pm.. even missed the beginning of the games! I feel ashamed to have missed a marathon of one of my favorite anime. Too much booze last night.. Oof. I hope everyone had a good night. Can't wait to get back to our regular schedule next week! -
I will be back here around midnight to catch the FLCL marathon. Just going down to a bar to see a couple friends and get some drinks. It is raining here so nothing crazy is going on.
-
I am going out for a bit tonight and just wanted to say happy New Years to everyone! Stay safe with whatever you all end up doing and have a good evening! Bye bye 2022!!

I actually rewatched that trilogy, as well as the three Hobbit movies over Xmas. LoTR has certainly aged well in my opinion. The Hobbit movies are good but I certainly did not like them as much as the first three. I really like There and Back Again. I should reread it haha It is funny because I usually am indifferent to fantasy at best, but Tolkien is just that good I guess.

Wallach is one of my favorite actors of all time (RIP). He was perfect as Tuco. The graveyard scene where he startles the dog and then proceeds to run around looking for the grave that Blondie told him about with the gold. All the long shots and swirling camera motion with that score on top of it.. **chefs kiss** EDIT: This is the scene I am talking about. It leads right up to the finale. Zero dialog. So fucking good.

Not really a 'futball' fan but the guy was a legend, even outside of the fan base. RIP -
Dirty Hairy is pretty good but the Dollars Trilogy, and The Good The Bad and The Ugly in particular are amazing. Definitely give it a watch if you can haha FFoD and FaFDM are great but yea, the Final Film is just so good.
-
Yea I always found the stories by themselves a bit trivial. For me the movie is perfect because of the cinematography, direction, score, etc. it all is perfect IMO. The whole 80 years thing was me just referring to film in general haha The last 20 minutes are so epic though. Barely any dialog and just pure acting. Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef are GOAT and their performances in the final film are some of the best of all time.

Don't call me daddy.. It makes me instantly splooge when whispered into my ear -
I was never a fan, or really ever acknowledged her existence, but RIP. Dignity for all..

Because after the 30s and 40s is when film started to get good. The tech began to proliferate and a community started to burgeon. Let me me refrain: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly is one of the best movies ever made. I am no film snob, but it is just unequivocally the best IMO. Citizen Kane is good but the Dollars Trilogy will always be my favorite movies..
-
So I re-watched Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy today and honestly, The Good the Bad and the Ugly is probably the best piece of cinema from the last 80 years.. So good.

The only things that have been turning me on lately are finite group theory and forced induction over 50 psi haha -
