  1. LOL And the answer to my question is soon revealed... Now he does. applause
  2. When is Zenigata gonna realize he's the real prisoner here?
  3. So Right Stuf is doing its first ever Kickstarter I believe to fund dubbing Aria for a new blu-ray release, which I still haven't gotten around to finish watching btw, sigh. Anyway, they hit the stretch goal for season 3 and the OVAs just the other day, so I just killed my wallet going in for the whole thing. Wallet: ::: "Oww, mercy please, have mercy on me!" Sorry.... I didn't want to do it, but I've just come to the conclusion that I have no control over myself when it comes to stuff like this.
  4. ohno At first, when I saw the news about this over in another thread, it felt just unreal. It honestly seemed like at times that he was just a part of the place, but I guess he wasn't a robit after all. I really appreciated how much passion he showed for the community over at the AS boards, and will always be grateful he helped preserve some of that community here for us. I never really interacted with him much, but when I did come across his postings, they were always interesting and fun to read, despite how long they often-times could be. Nothing but love to you Luuv.
  5. Space... Oh man, does this ever take me back. I still remember the old Toonami promos they ran for this show all the time. So awesome to see it back again. Too bad it gets buried so late at night. It deserves better. Wish they would have put this in place of Tokyo Ghoul. Would probably get better ratings, even after all this time.
  6. Was on vacation to see some relatives I haven't seen for a long time. Some of them actually like anime, so I brought along some movies (mostly Ghibli stuff) for them to watch. Also, got to see Lego Batman, which I missed sadly when it was out in theaters, and unlike me they have Netflix, so took the opportunity to see the first few episodes of Castlevania before heading back home. Will probably watch some more stuff in the near future.
  7. Despicable Me 3 - 7/10 A little disappointed the minions were kind of pushed off to the side, but it was still all right. Spiderman Homecoming - 8/10 Some of the casting choices felt a bit weird, but I guess they really wanted to differentiate this from the other Spiderman movie series. War for the Planet of the Apes - 9/10 I basically got dragged along to see this (I haven't seen the previous two entries, or any of the original movies for that matter), but despite not knowing any of the characters or preceding story line, I really found myself stunned at how much I ended up enjoying this. Still not gonna check out any of the other movies though, heh. Valerian - 8/10 Started off really stupid, but once they got to the main part of the movie it became a bit more grounded. All the crazy, imaginative-looking aliens and solid action sequences brought the fun though and really saved this in the end.
  8. New on order: Revolutionary Girl Utena Ultra Edition 20th Anniversary blu-ray set Ouch! This is gonna hurt my wallet, but I guess I gotta have it. At least it doesn't come out till December.
  9. 47 Meters Down - 7/10 Fairly entertaining, but it felt really short. For a shark movie though I'd say it was slightly above average. I liked The Shallows better though, which is the only other recent serious shark movie I can think of for comparison.
  10. New order: Miss Hokusai
  11. I'll probably watch the premiere since it's gonna be on regular TV, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay for All Access just to watch the rest of it.
  12. Wonder Woman - 10/10 Looks like DC finally managed to hit a home run. Gotta admit, I was a doubter when I heard Gal Gadot was cast for the part, but she kicked ass and proved me wrong.
  13. What I liked about the other Mummy movies is that they had some humor, largely due to Brendan Fraser. This movie looks completely devoid of that, so that's why I'm taking a pass. Rating is totally meaningless to me.
  14. Fairy Tail 261 - 265 Whoa, I did not see that coming. Quite the reveal. Good place for me to leave off on this show for a while it looks like. Just what appears to be a backstory arc left anyway until they make more I guess.
  15. Whoops. Sorry, my bad. Didn't realize you only wanted stuff from the last five years. Somtimes I just read too fast and miss stuff. Okay, went back and fixed; although, Bleach ended back in 2014, so that should count. Trinity Blood I think was older though, so I took that off, too.
  16. Favorite: 5) Gurren Lagann 4) InuYasha TFA 3) FMA Brotherhood 2) Cowboy Bebop 1) FLCL Least Favorite: 5) Bleach 4) Deadman Wonderland 3) Tokyo Ghoul (Once they get around it to airing it anyway, I'd add it here) 2) Dimension W 1) Eureka Seven
  17. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales - 8/10 Ghost shark jumping over the characters in slo mo was every bit as ridiculous looking as I thought it would be, as was the whole ghost shark sequence really.... So, bravo. I mean, after all you don't go to a Pirates movie expecting Shakespeare. You go to see Captain Jack act like a buffoon and stumble and bumble his way through what should be impossible to survive scenarios with seemingly the greatest of ease. Heh, now that I think of it, Jack's pretty similar in that way to another favorite captain of mine, Captain Tylor.
  18. Fairy Tail 240 - 250 Pickin' up where I left off ages ago it feels like now, with the Tartaros arc. Great stuff thus far. Even though it tends to get a little old, I'm still amazed how time and again this show keeps having so many villains later on come back and wind up redeeming themselves and basically turn into good guys.
  19. Alien Covenant (4/10) Sigh. Disappointing. This movie just felt way too predictable. I guess that's to be expected given it's essentially a prequel sequel, but still... I dunno, I think maybe I'm just burned out on alien movies, cuz I didn't find anything really shocking or scary about this one at all. Either that or perhaps I'm simply getting *gasp* too old for this stuff? : (
  20. New on order: Assassination Classroom season 1 part 1 LE, Barakamon, A Certain Magical Index season 2 collection, Danganronpa LE
  21. Eh, I doubt they bother checking the details on their press releases once they go out, so probably no way they'd notice a mistake like that unless someone messaged them about it to bring it to their attention, which probably nobody has done in this case because it's an essentially meaningless detail. The retail price only has any real actual meaning for when companies let multiple places carry their product and set their own prices for it. Aniplex only distributes to Right Stuf, and probably has strict control over the actual pricing, so the sale price is really all that matters. Could be of course, that I'm wrong, and it's a new sale tactic by them, but I really doubt it simply because I can't believe they'd ever think something like that would ever really work. I think the chances of these having chipboard boxes anyway is practically zero, given the $130 Durarara one didn't get one. Did I say bares bones? I meant wishbones. Defective Aniplex discs though? I haven't heard much of that before. What shows have you heard about having them? :-\
  22. Guardians of the Frickin' Galaxy vol. 2 Love the music choices they made, and like the first movie there were some pretty hilarious lines, mostly from Rocket and Drax of course. The ultimate climax didn't feel quite as exciting to me as the one from the first movie, but in every other way it was just as, if not more, awesome than the original, so 9/10.
  23. The MSRP is probably just incorrect. If it was any kind of a misprice, I can't imagine it wouldn't have been fixed by now (it's been 3 weeks since it went up for pre-order at this point), or that they would honor a pricing mistake of $120 per set even if that were the case. The recent Madoka Magica blu-ray set has the same price with an MSRP of $150, which is probably what the MSRP of these sets should be. Then again, Madoka Magica has only 13 episodes, and these are about double that, so... Actually, the Durarara blu-ray box set has like 25 episodes and is $130 with an MSRP of $160, so it's basically in line with that. Whatever the situation, if it's something you are really sure you want to own and you don't have a problem paying for it right away, pre-ordering it now wouldn't be a bad idea simply because it's unlikely, given this is Aniplex, that the price will ever be discounted much in the future, if at all. Keep in mind, this was released a while ago by them on DVD, and it's probably going to be basically bare bones type of sets with fairly cheap packaging and little bonus content.
  24. New on order: Kizumonogatari part 1 Tekketsu Time to use them Stuf Bucks.
  25. You can still see it all on SyFy's website I think, but looks like this one is the final episode, at least for now. Only six episodes. Guess they weren't too sure about how successful it would be. Were there fairies in Lodoss War? I certainly don't remember any. ::spin:: WTH! I can't believe who won. That just made no sense. First time I've been wrong about the winner and completely disagreed with the judges. LOL
