Literally, figuratively, and everything in between Who else be about this life? 🤠

Assume that those cliched bubble colonies of science fiction lore which support an artificial atmosphere to protect against radiation are in place.

and virtually everything remained the same, except that you wouldn't see the moon at night, would you live there? Could anything entice you to live there? Dirt cheap real estate? Higher paying jobs? The guarantee of attractive women also living on the moon? Would it take an endless list of accommodations and guarantees or would a few things be good enough for you?

I saw the promotion on my Raisin Bran box and figured that I hadn't played one of these since I was a kid, so this would be worth a shot in the dark. I hope I can win the promotion because it appears that the Series X has quite a few good exclusive games coming out and it looks pretty cool in the promotion.

(Not recommended) Cause irreversible damage to an essential organ by way of poor lifestyle choices, undergo major organ transplant surgery, take a ton of medications, post-op (especially immunosuppressants), and maintain a very nutritious diet thereafter. Not the ideal way to do it, but it's doing its thing

Compartmentalizing the English Language
RedemptionZeni replied to RedemptionZeni's topic in Free-For-All
Eh just came to me out of nowhere -
Middle English- "The life of the party! Comme il faut!" (everybody breaks into dance) Modern English- "Nerd! Watch Netflix and use it to relate to chicks instead of reading the dictionary to use big words, dude." Old English- "What the... Whose mans is this"?

I saw this coming a decade ago when it was apparent he had developed an addiction to painkillers after he had that car injury and got cut by the Redskins (or did that precede the accident)? He went from falling from grace as a college freshman and the likely eventual starter at Colorado (when the Big 12 was powerful) to rising to relative fame at Hawaii, and then from the Sugar Bowl on everything was downhill (got crushed by probably the best team in America- UGA, drafted in the 6th round, found out he wasn't good enough to be a pro QB), and that last saga was the utter collapse. Sophocles could not have devised a better story for a modern tragic hero.

Are giraffes the most enigmatic animals or what?
RedemptionZeni replied to RedemptionZeni's topic in Free-For-All
Look at a giraffe's relatives in the order Pecora. Does the giraffe really look that much like them? These guys are ancient for sure. Probably had prehistoric relatives that looked identical to them haha -

Oversized spotted zebra (horse) with a long neck? Still that's way out there -
They're one of the few animals that look nothing like any other animal lol Gives them a certain mystique, like they can provide us with a glimpse into the beginnings of nature

My doctors kept getting my height wrong for so long!
RedemptionZeni replied to RedemptionZeni's topic in Free-For-All
Just wanted the truth all along, went out and found it Funny thing is that for the longest time I knew the truth (5'5.75") without measuring and would often say, when asked by someone, that I was measured at 5'6" but I think I'm a shade under it. -

RedemptionZeni replied to RedemptionZeni's topic in Free-For-All
Yep It's almost the perfect height because I'm about even with the vast majority of ladies, and it's only when you get to about the 5'8" range that the leaning and angles start to affect positioning, which still isn't a big deal anyway if the other person can adjust. -
They kept listing me as 5'6", 5'6", 5'6" even when I requested that they measure, but they didn't think it was worth the time because they always had busy schedules, but I KNEW I wasn't quite 5'6" because I always felt ever so slightly smaller than real 5'6" peeps. So just to prove my point, I spent about twenty minutes last night marking off 69.1" (the point at which I could most comfortably stretch the top end of the tape to while making sure it was a straight line and was exactly 69.1" to contact with the floor. Then I did about ten markings using the old "stand straight and hold a pencil LEVEL atop the crown of your head and push it against the wall and mark where it hits. My end result was an average that could reliably be called 65.35 inches once I deducted the average from 69.1. So I came to the conclusion that my evening height is 5'5.4" or 5'5 and 5/12 inches. Because my sleep patterns are erratic and I don't wake up at normal times in the morning, haven't done a morning measurement and just added the standard 1cm to my evening height as people are generally 1cm taller in the morning, assuming adequate sleep, than they are in the evening. As such my morning (real) height is 5'8.9" or essentially 5'5 and 3/4 inches. I KNEW it! I'm never calling myself 5'6" again, I am a strong 5'5", and that's a fact! 😎

Right, I know what the liaison is, and it's not really that hard, it's just that in English we don't connect words like that so at first you feel you have to think it through before you connect while speaking French, I guess I didn't word that unambiguously enough. What I meant to say is that when I was 14, I mistook a Spanish pronunciation device for one which is exclusively French because I figured English was the best so foreign languages couldn't be so tricky or unique.

When I first started learning French in HS, I used to think that the Spanish tilde (the accent you make when you make a "yah" sound for a word such a nina (girl) on the second "n") and the liaison were equivalents of each other and then I stopped mistaking the liaison for the cedilla and felt really silly (I was 14) for not knowing the difference as it was taught.
