The second one. It was in a "repair loop" but now it won't get past the logo screen. Tried booting from a USB stick and that wouldn't work either. Can't even get into safe mode.

Not really. I don't really play it for the story all that much. I've played the entire series multiple times and I couldn't even tell you the finer details of the plot.
