  1. They probably don't have the money to afford DBZ Kai reruns. On top of that, it would lock up another spot (even if it is only a rerun slot) with a long runner.
  2. I think the best era for Toonami was 2013 to 2014. 2013 saw Toonami beginning to pick up higher profile shows (I'll take Soul Eater over Deadman Wonderland anyday), and it seemed like the block began to develop an identity for itself, rather than just being "ASA with Toonami packaging" like it seemed to be in 2012. 2014 took it further, with expansion and the addition of even better shows (Gurren Lagann, Black Lagoon). Toonami in 2014 struck a pretty good balance between airing long running shonens, shorter seinen series, and older Adult Swim reruns. It seemed like the block had something for everybody.
  3. You know Toonami will never drop One Piece; DeMarco practically air it at this point out of love for the show, so even if the ratings took a plunge he would probably just stick it in the last slot of the block.
  4. Personally I'd like to see the 1995 GITS movie on Toonami. I've wanted to see that air since Toonami was revived. Realistically, though, it wouldn't surprise me if they went after Arise sometime in 2017.
  5. It's definitely entertaining, I'll give him that.
  6. Stalin is my waifu.
  7. I dropped One Piece on Toonami a while ago. It makes it a lot easier not having to stay up to watch One Piece if I don't have to. Though I do need to start watching again soon; I only watched up through the current arc.
  8. Table-kun x ZeroKitteh.
  9. So is most of Naruto. Lionsgate actually making the movie just makes the cancer terminal.
  10. I think you're severely overestimating how much people hate these shows. Obviously there are gonna be some people who are gung ho about these shows never airing again, but the vast majority of people (most Toonami fans included) probably don't care, as long as the shows have been given a rest, which they have. Besides, they would be (and in the case of GITS, are) airing in the later part of the block, where the ratings don't really matter. If the ratings when GITS air bomb spectacularly, I'll concede to you, but I really don't think it'll happen. Well that goes without saying; honestly I thought Bleach would have been cooler if it focused more on the human world side of things.
  11. There's nothing wrong with Toonami airing an older show, I think, as long as they give it some time to rest; overexposing the shows is why they ended up killing the ratings, not the shows (for the most part) themselves. Besides, what would they air instead? OPM again? Doubt it. IBO? Nope, they probably only had that for a run. DB Kai? And lock up 7 out of the 8 slots on the block with long runners? No. You could make a point for airing Space Dandy, but considering the GITS movie is coming out soon, they probably thought GITS would be timely. I sincerely doubt ratings are going to be as bad as you think they will be.
  12. Hey just look at the bright side. If Toonami was still 11:30 to 6 we could be getting 6 and a half hour long marathons...
  13. You know how Jman is, just ignore it. Actually I'm pretty surprised they didn't rerun something like IBO. It was definitely divisive, yes, but not enough so that they wouldn't be willing to rerun it. Perhaps they were only able to get a single run from it. Beyond that all they really could do was run one of the older shows. OPM already had a rerun, and given how popular it was I doubt they could have afforded more than two runs. Everything else is still premiering, so I doubt they would double up on them. The only thing that could feasibly go there is DBZ Kai from the Saiyan saga, but even then, if they were to do something like that then they would probably wanna wait until the end of Buu. As for GITS itself airing, I'm happy about it. I've wanted to see it again. I agree that Space Dandy probably would have been a better choice, but I don't doubt that we'll see Space Dandy again.
  14. I'm sure they don't care about that, considering that it's 3:00 AM. Besides, GITS hasn't aired in close to two years, I'm sure the ratings won't be too bad. I'm surprisingly okay with this.
  15. I'm sure it's not going to matter to the quality of the movie. I'd like to think Kishimoto would help redesign them to look presentable, but again, doubt it.
  16. Personally I though it was pretty blatant to begin with, but admittedly I didn't pay much attention to it. I think my main problem with EVA 3.33 stems from
  17. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Toonami should sacrifice getting shows like One-Punch Man or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure for the sake of smaller sized pickups. Another note: I still think Shippuden, at the very least, should be booted off the block. That would make me a happier person. Just my opinion, though.
  18. I'd laugh so hard if this show aired and bombed like mad. I know it won't happen, but it'd be fucking hilarious.
  19. I'd have to agree with that. Inuyasha isn't the greatest of shows, but it always felt right to end my night watching Inuyasha while the sun came up. God I miss Toonami having 6 hours.
  20. I still think the third season should be about Table-kun and Nina forming a loving relationship out of an abusive one. Can't be any worse than the time some girl fucked sympathetic Satan in Blue Exorcist.
  21. So are they going to make Naruto emo like Sasuke? Because I have a feeling they will.
  22. I don't know how I would feel if Toonami ever aired Eva 3.33. On the one hand, they've already aired 1.11 and 2.22, so it only seems right to air 3.33. On the other hand, 3.33 is terrible; I hate it even as an EVA fan.
  23. Looks interesting, can't wait to watch.
  24. Oh wow, that picture really is terrible. It seems really washed out. The music sounds pretty good, at least. I'm glad we aren't gonna be hearing the DBZ Japanese tracks anymore. I think the only one that sounds really stilted is Gohan. I can hear it a little in Bulma, but not too bad. Gohan sounds like he's reading off a cue card.
  25. Inuyasha always did well for Toonami in the 5:00 - 6:00 hour. If Toonami ever manages to get the rest of Saturday night back, Inuyasha would be a good filler for the end of the block.
