  1. Most, maybe, but not all. The most famous one "You thought it would be JoJo, but it was I, Dio!" happened in Episode 1, for crying out loud! Yes, that night was good and quite hope-inspiring. Hopefully DBZ Kai FC and Gundam Unicorn will boost JoJo Part 2's return Saturday night!
  2. I gotta admit this is pretty annoying, to the point where I'm actually tempted to make a thread where we attempt to guess what Jman's favorite shows might be.
  3. Assuming no pre-emptions, JJBA Part 2 (Battle Tendency) has 16 more weeks left, which means that it will end on 4/22/17, which means that there is potentially a free slot on 4/29/17. What do you think Toonami will fill that slot with? Just keep going with JJBA Part 3? SimulDub of Attack on Titan Season 2? How about Lupin III Part 4? Or maybe something else? (comment below) Edit: I thought JJBA S1 was 25 episodes; turns out it's actually 26. So I've edited the dates above; my bad! http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=14445 Also, methinks Toonami's not going to have a featurette this week since FOUR shows will be debuting new OPs: DB Super; DBZ Kai FC; JoJo; AND Gundam Unicorn!!
  4. Well, it IS starting now!
  5. Alright, I'm reasonably bored, so I'll give this a try, and of course I'm sticking to new shows added in the Adult Swim era (no [as] deadhorses). Also, in general, my tastes are very mature. TOP 10: #10 Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans #9 InuYasha: The Final Act #8 Attack On Titan #7 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure #6 Parasyte -the maxim- #5 KILL la KILL #4 One-Punch Man #3 Gurren Lagann #2 Black Lagoon #1 Hellsing Ultimate And now, the bottom 5: #5 OG Naruto #4 Star Wars: The Clone Wars #3 Beware The Batman #2 King Star King #1 Tenchi Muyo! GXP
  6. I actually hope Toonami spends a fraction of their 2017 budget to hire a VA (Hell, they could just have Dana Swanson do it...) and premiere the whole video with a DUBBED intro instead! Hey look, it's my first crackpot theory of 2017!!
  7. The tales of those exploits will have to be saved for another time..." LIKE NEXT WEEK AT MIDNIGHT! GET READY FOR DBZ: KFC!!
  8. Speaking of this, they are REALLY spamming the hell out of that promo tonight!
  9. One Piece is now streaming. For a giant red zombie demon, Oars can roll with the best of them!! And up next is a One-Punch Man in which Saitama devises a clever solution to a missing ingredient! :420: It's almost game time, so LATER!
  10. Girl in Gundam: "It's useless. Useless!" Dio: "Hey, that's my line!" Still skipping Hunter x Hunter and going right to Shippuden, an episode in which Zetsu tries to be a 2-faced Speedwagon and fails miserably while Itachi and Sasuke attempt to out-brood each other!
  11. Meant to post during DBZ Kai and JoJo, but the site was down. If you miss DBZ Kai on the stream, the same episode, in which Vegeta is the unsung hero who distracts Cell, will be on again tonight at about 2 AM ET. And the episode of JoJo which just played was on TV last week at about 1:15 AM in which JoJo finally gets the drop on Tarukus, but only after Zeppeli makes the ultimate sacrifice. But now we've got the pentultimate episode of Gundam IBO streaming, with great moments such as this: Bang.
  12. This week on Pre-Flight: Jason & Gill talk their favorite Toonami moments from 2016!
  13. In this thread we discuss the Toonami presentation of Shelter and the DBZ Kai marathon to ring in 2017!
  14. A new weekend is upon us, simultaneously the last weekend of 2016 and the first weekend of 2017! For those who watch the Stream and can't see Toonami on TV, here's what you can expect as the Gohan/Cell fight reaches its thrilling conclusion, Zeppeli accepts his fate and JoJo reaps the benefits, Gundam IBO heats up both literally and figuratively, we learn more about the mysterious Nen art in Hunter x Hunter, the confrontation between Sasuke and Itachi approaches its thrilling conclusion, Oars meets his match, and a terrifying new menace lurks inside City Z! It's the block that aired on 12/3/16, finally streaming for your viewing pleasure!! 1. Dragonball Z Kai #96 - Combine Your Strength! The Final Kamehame-ha! - TV-PGLV 2. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure #7 - Sorrowful Successor - TV-MAV 3. Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans #24 - A Future Reward - TV-14LV 4. Hunter x Hunter #30 - Fierce and Ferocious - TV-14V -- or not. This week, THERE IS NO 4!! 5. Naruto Shippuden #137 - Amaterasu! - TV-14V 6. One Piece #371 - The Straw Hat Crew Gets Wiped Out! The Shadow-Shadow's Powers in Full Swing! - TV-PGL 7. One Punch Man #6 - The Terrifying City - TV-14LV I'll probably talk more about the episodes and post gifs tomorrow! Update: the stream is SKIPPING Hunter x Hunter! I don't know why that's happening, but this is the first time the stream has outright skipped an episode of the weekend Toonami rebroadcast since it did it with an episode of Parasyte sometime in early '16! Of course, that week it was actually corrected when the stream came back for Friday/Saturday after the week. I doubt it will be the case this time. UPDATE 2: They're skipping H×H differently from how they skipped Parasyte. The skipped episode of Parasyte still had its bumpers stream, but NOT H×H this weekend! What could this mean?
  15. Only one hour left to get your ghost on with 2 or 3 episodes of 16-20! But as the show returns to Toonami on-air in February, I won't be "discussing" these episodes.
  16. Huh, really? No mention of JoJo at 12:30? That's kinda weird. Especially since if they had found something else to air at 1 AM on 12/17/16, they could have billed it as "JoJo: Battle Tendency Arc!" But I'm guessing that might be just an edited-for-time version and not the "full" promo. They've done that before. But as is, it comes back with the 2nd episode of Part 2 (11), so maybe it's better to not mention it. Just as long as it and the other 4 shows at least get clips from their shows. Maybe they won't be in the 30-second edit, but maybe a different 1-minute cut will sneak peek on Pre-Flight tonight? Edit: nope. The promo aired on Pre-Flight just as it has on regular [as]. It is indeed a "New Shows Only" promo.
  17. I wouldn't exactly say that, but even with this Christmas Eve low, December 2016 actually did/is doing better than November 2016. Whether or not the month is over is a matter of perception, since the DBZ Kai marathon won't technically start until midnight on 1/1/17. I am still wont to count it as part of December 2016 though.
  18. I can't really say I see that happening. It's annoying but it's not "dumpster fire" level ridiculous. If it does, I'll just have to make a new one to cover 2017. In fact, a reboot for 2017 might not be such a bad thing. But that WON'T include the DBZ Kai marathon. (Are they calling it "New Year's Eve-il?")
  19. If those are the only spoilers, I think it will be fine. Even though he hasn't been formally installed, Brook pretty much IS part of the crew at the point in the storyline the deep, dark 2:30 AM airing is currently in on Toonami! Hell, I might actually go to see it myself!
  20. Programming Insider has arrived, and the numbers are pretty crappy indeed. One note about averaging: the normal "add then divide by 7" method WON'T work here; the JoJos are 30 minutes long while the Scavengers are 15, so the JoJos must be given double weight. Here are the results: 12:00 AM Scavengers 1,107,000 (66.69%) 12:15 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 811,000 (73.26%) 12:45 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 676,000 (83.35%) 1:15 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 546,000 (80.77%) 1:45 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 497,000 (91.03%) 2:15 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 460,000 (92.56%) 2:45 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 408,000 (88.70%) 3:15 AM Scavengers 413,000 (101.23%) TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 594,000 http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/saturday-final-nationals-nfl-network-wins-christmas-eve-bengals-texans/ 12:00 AM Scavengers 718,000 (70.67%) 12:15 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 519,000 (72.28%) 12:45 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 428,000 (82.47%) 1:15 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 365,000 (85.28%) 1:45 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 344,000 (94.25%) 2:15 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 329,000 (95.64%) 2:45 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 294,000 (89.36%) 3:15 AM Scavengers 268,000 (91.16%) TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 396,000 This loses to the One Piece marathon a year ago in total viewers, but ties it in Adults 18-49. As for the JoJo marathon itself, it got 566K/378K 18-49, which predictably puts it in last place among all marathons. I shudder to think how bad it might have been if Scavengers hadn't been there to save the night, but such things are expected when you don't show Christmas-oriented programming on Christmas Eve. I think replaying Children Who Chase Lost Voices might have outdone this, though. And maybe they'll actually give something Christmas-themed like Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz a spin on Christmas Eve Eve next year?
  21. Arby's referenced it! One Piece doesn't have to be popular in the U.S. because its archetype is popular: PIRATES! Yes I know SNL will probably never reference devil fruits because no one would get that, but for the love of Pete it doesn't even matter. People channel surfing will still land at the weird pirate show on Cartoon Network at 2:30 AM on Saturday nights.
