No question that DBZ Super probably won't have a hiatus as long as new episodes are available, and DBZ KFC will probably run all 60-odd episodes with only marathon breaks, but what about some of the other shows? Could JoJo take a break before Part 3? Could Hunter x Hunter break after the York New Arc? And what about Shippuden? Maybe Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga's dub would take the place of HxH or Shippuden for a brief time, before those shows return with brand-spankin' new promos? (And then Shippuden would FINALLY get a promo!) Would these shows going on hiatus freak people out to the point where they believe they've been cancelled? (Of course, One Piece is so far behind it has no business taking a break, but then again you could say the same for Shippuden). JoJo is still on-going in Japan but Hunter x Hunter is not, so I guess it would be more likely to take a seasonal break than any of the others. But that 1:30 AM slot isn't exactly coveted. And I guess now that I think of it, DB Super just MIGHT run 26 episodes over the first half of the year, then break for Samurai Jack and/or FLCL. So many unanswered questions that will be answered soon in the new year!

Yes, Dragon Ball Super and DBZ KFC are both dub premieres, as is Hunter x Hunter, but still, looking through the lineup on my on-screen guide, I notice something: the lack of any shows which say "(2017)": DB Super (2015) DBZ KFC (2015) JoJo (2012) Gundam Unicorn (2016) Hunter x Hunter (2012) Shippuden (2009) One Piece (2008) One-Punch Man (2015) To the unseasoned observer, Gundam Unicorn looks like the newest show, but its animation is actually mostly from 2010, and like JoJo, it's not a true dub premiere because it was previously streaming. The lack of any 2017 shows should be short-lived, however. We will most likely get Samurai Jack for the 20th Anniversary, and of course Attack on Titan Season 2 would also be 2017. The question is, is that distinction enough to put these shows AHEAD of Super and expand Toonami again to 11 PM, or will they be after DBZ KFC at 12:30? I sincerely doubt [as] would work so hard on Jack and then give it 12:30, but I'd say even an AOT S2 Simuldub might take JoJo's place after Part 2. What do y'all think?

As bad as NYE did, it still wasn't the worst marathon yet. That dubious honor actually goes to the Akame ga KILL! marathon on 10/31/15. This is somewhat surprising, when you consider those two shows also have the highest-rated Toonami episodes yet. And of course, two lineups in 2014 (Thanksgiving weekend's regular lineup and 12/13/14's "Hellsing X/FMA Milos unholy mega-bomb combo") also fell to it. I think premiering shorts during rerun marathons is a good move. Sometimes they take us by surprise (see David Gilmour's "Rattle That Lock" during the Michiko & Hatchin marathon and Death Cab For Cutie's video during the Samurai Champloo marathon), but it seems to work out slightly better if they're planned. I THINK High On Fire's video was supposed to premiere during the One-Punch Man marathon, but somehow it got bumped to the following weekend.

Episode #12 played one last time right before 6:30, and in it I noticed something: Mikazuki abandons the spear-club thingy along with all the other space debris, and the final scene of season one depicts it one more time. I wonder if he picks it up on the way back to Mars and uses it again in Season 2? But I digress. The stream has advanced to the latter half of the Dort arc and arrival on Earth in Episodes #16-#20!

It was also relatively convenient for NYE revelers to tune in and check out, then turn off their TVs. If nothing else it provided something better to watch than Mariah Carey's massive meltdown! Family Guy only got 1124K and a 0.48 in Adults 18-49 at 11:30. I'm SURE DragonBall Super can beat that!

Somehow I get the feeling Jman doesn't think Gundam IBO sucks--or am I wrong?

I REALLY dug two sketches from Awesome Show: "I Sit On You" and "Prices". Everything else has been nigh unwatchable crap!

More music videos on TV might not seem like such a bad thing, but when it's at the expense of all of MTV's classic animation, I'm honestly not so sure. Beavis and Butt-Head, Daria, Aeon Flux, and The Maxx are now off the air once again. One of the nicest surprises of 2016 was good while it lasted!

Only the confused mind of a messed-up orphan teenager who gives zero fucks! Finishing off the current offering of episodes, it's #15 - "Trail Of Footprints" In it, Tekkadan save Biscuit from a screwed-up decision by Atra to decoy herself for Kudelia's decision. Trust me, they DO get smarter from here!

#14 - "Vessel of Hope" Let's kick some ass! Yeah, Kudelia can't stand how much everyone stinks, which is one unfortunate reality about space travel no one ever even considers! Bet it smells like a backed-up toilet in there!

#13 - "Funeral Rites" This episode basically picks up where the Shoals (#12) left off in the dynamic battle in space between the assholes who are controlling The Brewers and Tekkadan, and Akihiro's brother Masahiro's sacrifice. But after that, the rest of it is pretty unremarkable political machinations, including the reveal that Dort is where Gjallarhorn will attempt to assassinate Kudelia, except, of course, for Mikazuki's surprise kissing Kudelia!

#12 - "The Shoals" In this episode, which I think was one of the best of the first half of the series, a second skirmish between Tekkadan and The Brewers is brewing, and the setting for the battle between two factions that consider themselves human debris? A field of space debris, of course! Here are a few of its most stunning scenes!

Now streaming is "#11: Human Debris!" This one starts out with an awesome battle between Tekkadan and The Brewers, and Kudal steals Dio's line! Believe me, he's just as insane!

RAISE YOUR FLAGS!!! If you want to re-live last year's seminal return to U.S. TV of the Gundam franchise for the first time in 4 years, this week, the first week of 2017 (1/2-1/6/17), is your chance! Episodes 11-15 will play from now through Wednesday at 6:30 PM (with Pre-Flight interspersed), most likely followed by 16-20 from Wednesday about 7:10 PM through Friday at 6:30 PM. And if you would like to watch 21-25, they should be streaming free as well individually, with 25 as part of the upcoming weekend's Toonami stream, so get your Gundam on in preparation for the Toonami debut of Gundam Unicorn this Saturday night at 1 AM!

Well at one point in 2014 you mentioned that Hellsing Ultimate was the best thing on Adult Swim at the time. And yes, you were also pining for JoJo to end up SOMEWHERE on TV to boot. I'm not sure what in the hell possessed me to believe that it would pair well with Archer on FX; it would not so far! But then again, I've heard the "prequel" Part 1 is not really indicative of the series as a whole, despite the fact that I enjoyed zombie-creating vampires' return to Toonami for the first time since Hellsing.

Most, maybe, but not all. The most famous one "You thought it would be JoJo, but it was I, Dio!" happened in Episode 1, for crying out loud! Yes, that night was good and quite hope-inspiring. Hopefully DBZ Kai FC and Gundam Unicorn will boost JoJo Part 2's return Saturday night!

I gotta admit this is pretty annoying, to the point where I'm actually tempted to make a thread where we attempt to guess what Jman's favorite shows might be.

Assuming no pre-emptions, JJBA Part 2 (Battle Tendency) has 16 more weeks left, which means that it will end on 4/22/17, which means that there is potentially a free slot on 4/29/17. What do you think Toonami will fill that slot with? Just keep going with JJBA Part 3? SimulDub of Attack on Titan Season 2? How about Lupin III Part 4? Or maybe something else?
