  7. Some recent rumors are indicating we may be heading right for it as soon as the current season of JoJo finishes! As for retention and show averages, well... 11:00 PM Samurai Jack 1,552,000 (105.72%) 11:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 1,251,000 (80.61%) 12:00 AM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 903,000 (72.18%) 12:30 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 672,000 (74.42%) 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 569,000 (84.67%) 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter 569,000 (100.00%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 674,000 (118.45%) 2:30 AM One Piece 657,000 (97.48%) 3:00 AM Ghost In The Shell HD 602,000 (91.63%) TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 827,667 11:00 PM Samurai Jack 973,000 (115.01%) 11:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 733,000 (75.33%) 12:00 AM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 542,000 (73.94%) 12:30 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 405,000 (74.72%) 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 339,000 (83.70%) 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter 337,000 (99.41%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 379,000 (112.46%) 2:30 AM One Piece 364,000 (96.04%) 3:00 AM Ghost In The Shell HD 334,000 (91.76%) ADULTS 18-49 TOONAMI AVERAGE - 489,556 The boost that Jack provided turned a below-average night into an above-average one!! 8. Turns out they're all streaming for free on Viz's website. http://www.viz.com/inuyasha Watch with someone you love! <3 Edit: It's a Hulu plug in, and it's pretty much in Shit-D. Not very useful, but it's there!
  9. No, Average Start Time (AST) is a real thing. I use it whenever a show doesn't complete its run in the same timeslot that it began. For example with a short show which changed timeslots, Hellsing Ultimate started at 3 AM for its first 2 episodes, aired 6 more at 2 AM, and then its final 2 were at midnight. To get its average start time, you do the math: (3 x 2 + 2 x 6 + 0 x 2)/10 = (6 + 12)/10 = 18/10 = 1.8. And finally, since 0.8 x 60 = 48, that makes its AST 1:48. Similarly, One-Punch Man aired its first 10 episodes at midnight, and its last 2 at 12:30. So it would be (0 x 10 + 0.5 x 2)/12 = 1/12. As 1/12 of 60 is 5, that makes its AST 12:05. It becomes useful if you graph ASTs on one axis and average ratings on the other at determining definitively whether a show overperforms or underperforms!
  10. They won't be. It will be the next Parasyte, with the only difference being that those ratings will actually look GOOD for 1 AM against the dumpster-ratings we've been seeing lately from Gundam shows! Parasyte looked like crap when compared to SAO II and Michiko & Hatchin at first in 2015, but then got quite a bit better. Tokyo Ghoul will probably blow Gundam Unicorn's average of 758K out of the water, and might even beat Gundam IBO's 882K average in that timeslot. But beating the likes of SAO II (991K at 1 AM); Michiko & Hatchin (1102K at 1 AM), and Parasyte (1048K, only aired at 1 AM) might be a tall order. Don't get me wrong; I like the Gundam shows. Of course I do! But I can't deny that they haven't really been that great for ratings.
  11. The question is, is Gundam Unicorn still going to be considered a "cable original" if it airs that late in the night? The latest timeslot anything considered a cable original aired was 1:30 AM (InuYasha: The Final Act; Sword Art Online II) Then again, it actually got beat by 2 AM "FILLER" on ESPN last week so I'm leaning toward "yes!"
  12. Well they better decide what the hell they're going to do soon because this sort of thing wreaks havoc on DVRs! Remember when One Piece and Soul Eater flip-flopped in 2013? I believe the same happened of One Piece and Gurren Lagann! I guess we really won't know for sure until Pre-Flight tomorrow; I just hope on-screen guides can keep up with what changes, whatever it is.
  13. I thought Tokyo Ghoul was very old but it turns out it's not THAT old. It's a 2014-2015 series and its dub has only been out for less than 2 years, probably produced in 2015, which is similar to its lead-in JoJo. However, that's only for the first 5 weeks, as then JoJo either gets replaced by something else or its dub is a 2014 dub for 3 episodes (or I suppose a completely different dub from the test dub is an option, but since that test dub was done by Bang-Zoom, why?) That's well and good but it still sucks for Hunter x Hunter since it's a dub premiere!
  14. It strikes me that its 18-minute runtime would be perfect for a serial interstitial like a TIE. But would it be able to be early enough at night to warrant one? Nah, probably not. It would just end up stuck in the midblock with 5-minute music videos to fill in the time!
  15. http://toonamifaithful.com/toonami-trending-rundown-for-march-11-12-2017/ Looking at trending, I think it's very safe to say that UFC had some sort of effect, as for the mainstay of the night it locked Toonami out of the #1 spot. Only Samurai Jack broke through: United States Trends: Toonami [#2] #SamuraiJack/Samurai Jack (Also during the West Coast airing) [#1] #JackIsBack [#3] #DragonBallSuper [#5] #DBZKai [#3] #JoJosBizarreAdventure [#3] #GundamUnicorn [#3] #HunterXHunter [#3] #Shippuden [#3] #OnePiece [#2] #GhostInTheShell [#2] Click the above link and you'll find it was UFC that took the #1 spot most of the night, not Jack. And what the hell is up with Dragonball Super only reaching #5!? Worldwide Trends: #SamuraiJack [#1] #DragonBallSuper [#7] #DBZKai [#9] #JoJosBizarreAdventure [#8] #GundamUnicorn [#8] #HunterXHunter [#8] #OnePiece [#6] #GhostInTheShell [#7] Well, at least all shows except Shippuden made the Top 10 Worldwide, and of course Jack accomplished the rare feat of a #1 trend Worldwide! Tweet Counts: Toonami [13.2k tweets] #SamuraiJack [36.9k tweets] Samurai Jack [37.2k tweets] #DragonBallSuper [4,873 tweets] #DBZKai [2,217 tweets] #JoJosBizarreAdventure [2,795 tweets] #HunterXHunter [1,718 tweets] #OnePiece [4,443 tweets] Those are some HUGE tweet counts for Samurai Jack! Too bad Gundam and Shippuden's tweet counts were missed somehow!
  16. I doubt it. One Piece needs a weeknight timeslot to blow through all the previously dubbed material to get to dub premieres before returning to Toonami on Saturday night. Of course, it won't get it. I think maybe when DBZ Kai ends, One Piece might be back. But the same arc it's leaving on? Doubt that. It should be a dub premiere.
  17. I often fantasize after the events of Kill la Kill as aired on Toonami (perhaps before the OVA Episode 25 set 6 months later) that Ryuko and Mako are indeed a lesbian couple but they both use Gamagoori for the "designated dick" that gives both ladies what they can't physically give each other. One would expect something like this out of someone who is such a stickler for the rules on the street! He apparently likes Mako but would seemingly tolerate Ryuko. Don't know if he would hit it on Ryuko, but he definitely would on Mako while she eats Ryuko out or something. Those three would be quite freaky!
  18. Did anyone else notice this episode aired on March 12th? And had it been a week later, it would have aired on March 19th. The Ides of March is March 15th, so this was about as close to the Ides of March as the death of Caesar could get! Too bad this was lost on the target audience...
  19. Yes, that was true! It was CN-west's first re-air! The 2nd is at 2:30 AM PDT!
  20. That's just not true! Soul Eater had an average start time of 1:24 AM and did about as well as InuYasha: The Final Act with its average start time of 1:25 AM!
  21. Watch episodes 1-10 of Sword Art Online II one last time this week while Toonami still has the rights! Episodes 1-5 just started anew one last time today (3/15/17), so catch them while you can!
  22. I'd be inclined to agree except that no show's timeslot changed. They were doing yearly highs or just below before Jack hit, and the fact that now they've stumbled so low is frustrating and perplexing! A more likely upset may occur on 3/25 when Tokyo Ghoul hits and actually knocks 3 shows down 30 minutes. It could also have something to do with blizzards or something? Still, that Jack's audience dwindled down to a little more than a third just 2 hours later is far from encouraging.
  23. You're not reading it wrong; however, that's the 8 PM Super premiere, not the 11:30 near-premiere JoJo has beat Super at 8 PM in key demos every week since the latter premiered at the beginning of the year.
