  1. ...asking their followers on Twitter which show they would like to be aired on Toonami!! This could be big. Akame ga KILL! was of course one of the block's top-rated shows, and Parasyte was no slouch either. We could be talking the 11 PM replacement with whatever they decide on!
  2. Bumped because it's back on the stream now (5/8/17). Episodes 6-10 after Pre-Flight concludes through Wednesday, then MAYBE it will advance to episodes 11-15 Wednesday night at about 9 through Friday. I guess we'll see! Anyway, this marathon covers the end of OVA 2, all of OVA 3, and the beginning of OVA 4, if the original partitions are still relevant. Also, you'll get a full recap of the series so far at the beginning of Episodes 8 and 9, so it's not a bad time to get into it!
  3. Samurai Champloo got a marathon of episodes 15-21 (the "Kansai Chapter") last year. Those were also the only episodes to get a rerun. It was an interesting choice because they had also recently acquired Dimension W, but it had just finished. No Dimension W episode has been aired more than once to date. In 2015, KILL la KILL was chosen for the Memorial Day marathon, but it began at 12:30, led-into as normal by an episode of DBZ Kai. It was probably the "safest" choice at that time since marathons were mostly untested, and the first whole-block marathon would actually be Michiko & Hatchin on Labor Day weekend of 2015. Viewers who expected to tune in to a new dubbed episode of KILL la KILL instead got a rerun of Episode 10 along with its full OP, and many changed the channel but most stayed as the marathon went through the end of the Tri-Schools Raid arc (Episode 15). Also, unlike Champloo, all of KILL la KILL would get a 3 AM rerun, which meant those episodes to be lucky enough to be featured during the marathon would actually get THREE total airings! There was no Memorial Day marathon in 2014 or 2013, and Memorial Day of 2012 was when the block returned.
  4. So I was watching Last Week Tonight on HBO, and when I saw the credits roll at the end, something caught my eye: "Voice Over: David Kaye" Yes, I have reason to believe it's none other than THAT David Kaye, because it sounds a lot like Old Sesshomaru. So anyway, he probably makes more money now doing a 13-second soundbite for an HBO late night news comedy program than he ever did belting out numerous lines of complex dialogue for InuYasha to be aired on Adult Swim at 11 PM Saturdays. I guess that's the difference between premium services and ad-supported cable! :fap: :poop:
  5. I believe we'll get the announcement either this Friday or next on Pre-Flight!
  6. I LIKE this idea, especially if this becomes their regular timeslots going forward! I haven't seen Jack CI, but I'm sure it would lead-in to KOTH pretty well!
  7. Ranking the 9 shows featured in last night's (5/6/17-5/7/17) lineup: #9: Dragon Ball Super - Pretty much a useless throwaway Chi-Chi episode, but it DID have some VERY funny moments! #8: Tokyo Ghoul - The episode ended with the conclusion of the battle for Kimi, but then went in an unexpected direction with about 2 minutes worth of action. But we got back the omake, so yay? #7: Dragon Ball Z Kai - Yakon was indeed no match for Goku, but in a way that no one who hasn't seen it would have expected! #6: Ghost In The Shell - Major vs. Chinese attack dolls and Batou vs. robotic dogs! #5: Naruto Shippuden - Surprised to see this one this high, huh? Well the Pain troupe has attacked the Hidden Leaf Village and all hell has broken loose!! #4: Hunter x Hunter - A bit of a role reversal for Gon and Killua, plus they discover what Kurapika's been up to... #3: Attack on Titan - Some VERY shocking revelations, as well as the main cast getting back into the fray made this one a winner in my book! #2: Samurai Jack - This one had it all: the final, sweet step of Jack & Ashi's blossoming relationship, along with a protracted struggle against some savage alien leech-like creatures! #1: Gundam Unicorn - This episode was almost non-stop action, and pretty much stole the show for me, along with its amazing one-off OP! Also the characters' motivations seem to make more sense to me now than they have in the previous 17 episodes!
  8. That's a really good question! Considering I've heard her voice lately, you'd think I'd be able to tell, but I still don't know!
  9. Surprisingly, the one who looks more human is actually less human!
  10. "I'll punch you in your stupid ridiculously overcyberized face!!!"
  11. Toonami's biggest direct competition in the sports world was Canelo vs. Chavez Jr. in boxing. Somehow I forgot about that, even though it usually trended higher than Toonami shows! Also, DB Super at 8 PM had Megamind as its lead-in. We'll see how well that worked out...
  12. All those explosions and THIS is what the Tumblr gives us tonight? Well at least they gave us that much; they apparently forgot that DBZ Kai even exists!
  13. "¥€$", you say??? I'll just leave this here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MOOm9kw1_0
  14. After Stink-O De Mayo comes "Revenge of the 6th!"
  15. Samurai Jack was awesome! Attack on Titan was also awesome!! But for me at least, Gundam just stole the show!!!
  16. Oh, so that's what this is all about! Riddhe you are such an insufferable little shit!
  17. This is the episode of Gundam to show to someone who isn't into Gundam!
  18. VOLTRON-ISH Gundam! Boy, they really cranked the awesome up to 11 for this episode! These GIFs don't even do it justice!!!
  19. Apologies; I had the wrong OP! If I remember correctly, this is actually where OVA 6 ends and OVA 7 begins!
  20. UGH, ANOTHER brief satellite interruption! And I don't feel like staying up until 4 AM to figure out what he said! Wow, they just appeared out of thin air!
