  3. Not to mention, he's "horny!" [get it?]
  4. Well, now that we know that Toonami will be occupied by Samurai Jack plus one slot all night on 5/27, the question that must be asked, yet no one is asking, is "what of the 8 PM Dragonball Super episode?" I would replace it with an encore of Episode CI (S5E10) of Samurai Jack for one week only, but that's just me. If it premieres in [as] at 8 PM but DOESN'T air during Toonami that night (even if AFTER the Jack marathon at 4 AM), then I'd say we're most likely to get a power hour of DB Super on June 3rd beginning at 11 PM, maybe followed by a new show in the 11 PM hour on June 10th? My Hero Academia wasn't part of that poll but Mob Psycho 100 WAS. Plus, I never finished MP100 on FUNimation NOW, so that MIGHT be it. Or perhaps the DB Hour just moves up on June 10th allowing Gundam to have a one-time power hour on June 10th? But 1:30 would be a shitty timeslot for IBO...anyway, it will be interesting to see what happens and how long Toonami manages to hang on to 11 PM--for now at least.
  5. The stream has advanced! It's Episodes 11-15 the rest of this week until Friday night at 8!
  6. It's that time of year; thought we would hear something by now. Maybe a clue into what's going into that 11 PM Saturday night timeslot in June...
  7. Well, I think there's only one week left of crappy Beerus aftermath filler before we at least see the redux of the Resurrection of Frieza, the only way we will EVER see it on Toonami, so there's that. Plus, even if it's about as nonsensical as what Kekkaishi was trying to do with the Lord Uro two-parter, at least Beerus himself is back in the picture instead of other minor characters talking badly about him behind his back and Super's own Mr. Faaaaaabulous Whis!
  8. I don't think it's unwatchable at all! In fact, it's probably the most REwatchable show on the block next to GITS, in that you better watch a few times if you really want to figure out what's going on!
  9. Yeah really. Jack is a Japanese guy voiced by a Black man; there's nothing "White" about him!!

  11. Even though everything is way down relative to last year, it's also true that the 5 shows on Toonami considered cable originals are beating the crap out of everything else in their timeslots! And that, as they say, is quite super! 12:00 AM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 925,000 12:30 AM Attack on Titan Season 2 771,000 (83.35%) 1:00 AM Tokyo Ghoul 713,000 (92.48%) 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter 649,000 (91.02%) 2:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 550,000 (84.75%) 2:30 AM Naruto: Shippuden 539,000 (98.00%) 3:00 AM Ghost In The Shell HD 515,000 (95.55%) The 12-3:30 average was the number of the Beast (666K) even, down 34%, over a third, from last year! Hopefully the 18-49 drop won't be quite as stupefying!
  12. Back to the ratings--because today is not Thursday! http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-5-6-2017.html 5/6/2017 Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - #11 (-4) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.35 Estimated 18-34 - 238,000 ( 27.08% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.29 Estimated 18-49 - 372,000 ( 42.32% ) Total Viewers - 879,000 5/6/2017 Samurai Jack - #1 STEADY Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.73 Estimated 18-34 - 496,000 ( 36.52% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.61 Estimated 18-49 - 782,000 ( 57.58% ) Total Viewers - 1,358,000 5/6/2017 DBZ Kai: Final Chapters - #3 (+1) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.5 Estimated 18-34 - 340,000 ( 36.76% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.40 Estimated 18-49 - 513,000 ( 55.46% ) Total Viewers - 925,000 5/6/2017 Attack On Titan - #4 (+2) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.42 Estimated 18-34 - 285,000 ( 36.96% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.35 Estimated 18-49 - 449,000 ( 58.24% ) Total Viewers - 771,000 5/6/2017 Tokyo Ghoul - #7 (+6) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.39 . Estimated 18-34 - 265,000 ( 37.17% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.33 Estimated 18-49 - 423,000 ( 59.33% ) Total Viewers - 713,000 5/6/2017 Gundam Unicorn - #17 (+3) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.3 Estimated 18-34 - 204,000 ( 37.09% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.26 Estimated 18-49 - 333,000 ( 60.55% ) Total Viewers - 550,000 What's interesting is this time we actually get to see how well the 6 PM CN movie (in this case Megamind) did in total viewers and target and off-target demos as a lead-in to DB Super at 8 PM! As you can see, it dropped pretty greatly in total viewers and slightly in adults 18-49, but GAINED in adults 18-34! However, DB Super is down from its lofty 18-49 height 2 weeks ago so we don't really know if that particular movie was the best lead-in. We DO know that CN has a rather formidable audience at that time and leads-in to Super well. Some actual SYNERGY going on between the time share networks; whod'a thunk it?? Meanwhile despite the return of the main cast to the forefront, Attack on Titan just keeps getting more and more disappointing. It's almost down to Space Dandy 2nd Cour levels of disappointment (On 7/26/14, Episode #17, or #4 of the 2nd cour, got 750K and 396K 18-49 before turning things around considerably for the rest of the season. Guess what's next for AOTS2...). And Tokyo Ghoul isn't doing it any favors, and Gundam is just on too late to know if it's doing good. Only the hardcore of the hardcore stay up for it apparently. I hate to say it, but I think the block is actually missing One Piece!
  13. Probably not... But if I do, it's most likely to be on a Thursday.
  14. Now THAT'S how you do it, [as]! Tonight they showed a topical for AOT during the 12:15 Boondocks before the commercial break, practically 5 days before the episode airs! And interestingly enough, this Boondocks episode features a bully who knocks out his targets in ONE PUUUUNCH, making me wonder why they didn't try this last year! Getting back to AOT, I REALLY hope it cracked 900K last week, let alone a million! By the law of averages, things have gotta get better sometime; I guess we'll find out in about 7-8 hours...
  15. I forgot about Legend of Galactic Heroes! That would of course be swell!!
  16. Wow, that was pretty awful alright!
  17. Ahh, thanks! I didn't notice that! Well then it seems this one might not hold much water after all! :brownbottle: :poop:
  18. ...asking their followers on Twitter which show they would like to be aired on Toonami!! This could be big. Akame ga KILL! was of course one of the block's top-rated shows, and Parasyte was no slouch either. We could be talking the 11 PM replacement with whatever they decide on!
  19. Bumped because it's back on the stream now (5/8/17). Episodes 6-10 after Pre-Flight concludes through Wednesday, then MAYBE it will advance to episodes 11-15 Wednesday night at about 9 through Friday. I guess we'll see! Anyway, this marathon covers the end of OVA 2, all of OVA 3, and the beginning of OVA 4, if the original partitions are still relevant. Also, you'll get a full recap of the series so far at the beginning of Episodes 8 and 9, so it's not a bad time to get into it!
  20. Samurai Champloo got a marathon of episodes 15-21 (the "Kansai Chapter") last year. Those were also the only episodes to get a rerun. It was an interesting choice because they had also recently acquired Dimension W, but it had just finished. No Dimension W episode has been aired more than once to date. In 2015, KILL la KILL was chosen for the Memorial Day marathon, but it began at 12:30, led-into as normal by an episode of DBZ Kai. It was probably the "safest" choice at that time since marathons were mostly untested, and the first whole-block marathon would actually be Michiko & Hatchin on Labor Day weekend of 2015. Viewers who expected to tune in to a new dubbed episode of KILL la KILL instead got a rerun of Episode 10 along with its full OP, and many changed the channel but most stayed as the marathon went through the end of the Tri-Schools Raid arc (Episode 15). Also, unlike Champloo, all of KILL la KILL would get a 3 AM rerun, which meant those episodes to be lucky enough to be featured during the marathon would actually get THREE total airings! There was no Memorial Day marathon in 2014 or 2013, and Memorial Day of 2012 was when the block returned.
  21. So I was watching Last Week Tonight on HBO, and when I saw the credits roll at the end, something caught my eye: "Voice Over: David Kaye" Yes, I have reason to believe it's none other than THAT David Kaye, because it sounds a lot like Old Sesshomaru. So anyway, he probably makes more money now doing a 13-second soundbite for an HBO late night news comedy program than he ever did belting out numerous lines of complex dialogue for InuYasha to be aired on Adult Swim at 11 PM Saturdays. I guess that's the difference between premium services and ad-supported cable! :fap: :poop:
  22. I believe we'll get the announcement either this Friday or next on Pre-Flight!
  23. I LIKE this idea, especially if this becomes their regular timeslots going forward! I haven't seen Jack CI, but I'm sure it would lead-in to KOTH pretty well!
  24. Ranking the 9 shows featured in last night's (5/6/17-5/7/17) lineup: #9: Dragon Ball Super - Pretty much a useless throwaway Chi-Chi episode, but it DID have some VERY funny moments! #8: Tokyo Ghoul - The episode ended with the conclusion of the battle for Kimi, but then went in an unexpected direction with about 2 minutes worth of action. But we got back the omake, so yay? #7: Dragon Ball Z Kai - Yakon was indeed no match for Goku, but in a way that no one who hasn't seen it would have expected! #6: Ghost In The Shell - Major vs. Chinese attack dolls and Batou vs. robotic dogs! #5: Naruto Shippuden - Surprised to see this one this high, huh? Well the Pain troupe has attacked the Hidden Leaf Village and all hell has broken loose!! #4: Hunter x Hunter - A bit of a role reversal for Gon and Killua, plus they discover what Kurapika's been up to... #3: Attack on Titan - Some VERY shocking revelations, as well as the main cast getting back into the fray made this one a winner in my book! #2: Samurai Jack - This one had it all: the final, sweet step of Jack & Ashi's blossoming relationship, along with a protracted struggle against some savage alien leech-like creatures! #1: Gundam Unicorn - This episode was almost non-stop action, and pretty much stole the show for me, along with its amazing one-off OP! Also the characters' motivations seem to make more sense to me now than they have in the previous 17 episodes!
