A show did so poorly at 1:30 AM we don't even get to find out how well it did in 18-34. Well, at least Gundam never did THAT! Despite Toonami's relative enfeeblement in total viewers and adults 18-49 compared to 2 years ago, I don't think it's in danger of getting cancelled because it's still owning the 18-34s in its timeslot. Live PD still won the night versus an NFL Preseason game, but will it do as well against College Football? And what will that do to Toonami? Hopefully Outlaw Star will be just what Toonami needed in a 2:30 AM anchor show for a while, because GITS was an unfortunate failure in that regard if Lupin and Shippuden weren't even cracking 0.2 in 18-49.

Except that the only true "dub premieres" on the block anymore are Stardust Crusaders, Hunter x Hunter, and Lupin the 3rd. Maybe DBZ Kai still qualifies but I'm not sure. I don't think that episodes beyond 122 or so have been released on DVD, and we're well past that. Gundam IBO S2 will of course add a 5th dub premiere, but who knows what kind of show Lupin the 3rd will be replaced with? That would be a great timeslot for Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga if Hulu's exclusivity clause is extremely limited, only covering the time period in which the show is actually premiering on Hulu. But as we've seen with Sailor Moon, that's extremely unlikely.

I suppose you're right, though I daresay they should have gone after MHA instead of Tokyo Ghoul. They might have beat Netflix to the punch if they'd have at least done that! Of course, we wouldn't be getting IBO S2 this October, but small price to pay.

If you're just getting into JoJo now with Stardust Crusaders, wanna know what Joseph Joestar was like when he was younger? Well you're in luck. Not only are Episodes 11-15 now streaming on the Marathon Stream, but Episode 10 is now available streaming on its own for free with no cable log-in required! So you can watch all the way through Episode 20 this week courtesy of [as] and Toonami! However, given recent events, this is certainly odd timing. In a time where white supremacists and neo-Nazis are either empowered or hated with a brand new fervor, why show an anime which actually uses them to help the protagonist? If you ask me, 1-10, which feature Phantom Blood (which does more to set up Part 3, which is currently airing on Toonami TV) and New York's JoJo (which is Part 2 but doesn't get to the Germans just yet), would have been a better choice, but Joseph Joestar's antics are a hoot seen even for the umpteenth time, so I'll give it a pass.

There will be 8 episodes of Root A out then, and Toonami has 9 slots, so of course they'll air the last episode of Season 1 at 11 followed by the first 8 episodes of Root A, though I guess they could just air Root A's first 8, then AOT S2 since it's a rerun...

Yeah really? Separate releases?? When's the last time anything like that happened? Blue Exorcist?? What they SHOULD do is include the Japanese track with the sub in the SAME package, even if the whole thing is like 20 bucks more! But I really hope at least the English dub will include the original OP as an extra. That alone would make me happy, if I can ever afford to buy the damn thing!

My point was can someone who's seen the sub of JoJo: Stardust Crusaders confirm or deny whether or not there was a preview cut as there was last time? Your logic is sound though. It might be a special thing that was done only for Episode 2 that doesn't appear in every episode!

Tokyo Ghoul - Root A is dead last yet again as the best part of the episode was the fact that Amon likes doing push-ups. #09. Dragon Ball Super - Don't get me wrong, the new storyline is intriguing and Beerus is hilarious, but it was so full of plotholes I just can't give a pass. #08. DBZ Kai - Buu and Babidi both returned, and Gohan is revealed to also be alive, but not much else happened here! #07. Samurai Jack - Ashi fights with and defeats her past, only to embrace a future she won't even be part of. #06. Ghost In The Shell - We say goodbye to the first season with a classic episode that is big on heady dialog but light on action. #05. Attack on Titan - The only time the possible plan to block the hole in Wall Rose is mentioned in Season 2. #04. Shippuden - Naruto defeats the last of the fake Pains, so it's FINALLY TIME to take on the real one--next week! #03. Hunter x Hunter - We go deeper into the game, and Gon and Killua start kicking ass on some monsters! #02. Lupin the 3rd - Lupin might be a thief, but he's no kidnapper! Also, Mr. Nix from MI6 returns and the overarching plot is revealed! #01. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders - A new sense of urgency descends on the group, and a new mission, plus we got a tasteful, long-ish cut of the OP and the FULL ED! What wasn't to love?

I have a feeling somehow they'll be able to weaken Holly's stand without actually killing DIO to the point she'll be able to gain control of it... ...but that's just my guess. I guess we'll find out over the coming weeks! Yes, this has indeed made my #1 pick of Toonami for this week! BTW, did we give up last-episode recaps? Or was there not one in this episode?
