Saturday night SEEMED successful on the surface, as numerous shows trended into the top 10, and we even had a character trend in Majin Buu. But as it turns out, the bar was just really, really low. However, I'm going to point out something in the full chart before I post my usual 18-49/18-34 estimates since it might well be considered a mitigating factor: I have no idea what in people these numbers mean, but note that Toonami captured the Top 3 of Men 12-34. Lupin just barely missed the Top 5 at #6, #4 was the DBS 8 PM "sneak" premiere, and #5 was a show that should probably be on Toonami someday (Justice League Action). Toonami also did well in Men 18-49, especially in the 12 AM hour, as DBZ KFC was #2 and AOT was #3. And of course, though the bar is still low, 3 shows in the Top Ten (#3, #5, and #10) in Adults 18-49 and also winning Adults 18-34 is remarkable. Granted, that's over when College Football begins, even if overall numbers go up. Now what does Toonami need to recapture its former success: a stronger lead-in lineup! I imagine viewers might come back if this is what preceded it: 8 PM Dragon Ball Super 8:30 Rick & Morty x2 9:30 American Dad x2 10:30 Family Guy x2 But I might be wrong. A&E's "Live PD" is a juggernaught to which some of Adult Swim's loyal viewers may have jumped ship and probably aren't coming back. But American Dad could fare well if counterprogrammed to it once again.

Cowboy Bebop is up this week (7/17/17-7/21/17), but it looks like it's gonna be Episodes 11-20. Right now through Wednesday, it's 11-15 which are streaming, which means you get to catch the Jupiter Jazz saga in its entirety!

What happened to this thread? I miss the complicated discussions of yester-week! But for my two cents, here is my ranking of the 8 official Toonami shows: 8. Tokyo Ghoul - No idea what the hell is going on in this show, even if it does have decent action. 7. Shippuden - It turned out that the Pains all have a puppet master!! But what a crap reveal! 6. Dragon Ball Super - Beerus is a riot, and Golden Frieza cool, but the pacing is SLOOOOW!! 5. Ghost In The Shell - Daisuke Aramaki is in trouble, as things unravel quickly for Section 9! 4. DragonBall Z Kai Final Chapters - Defiant Buu is defiant, and apparently mad at Dabura for some reason. 3. Hunter x Hunter - All that build-up deflated in kind of a funny way, and it seems Kurapika overheated? 2. Lupin the 3rd - Speaking earlier of Daisukes in trouble, this Jigen-centered episode was great! 1. Attack on Titan Season 2 - Now THIS is how you build up to a season finale! Eren vs. THAT Titan, next week!

He's in center stage in the current Manga arc though. So this leads to an interesting possibility for Toonami viewers: read the manga for the continued adventures of Kurapika, while watching Toonami for the continued adventures of Gon and Killua? I guess it depends on whether or not the current manga chapters would spoil anything from the next 90 episodes. If you're new to Hunter x Hunter (like me) and enjoyed the Yorknew arc, I'd at least look into it.

That's stupid! This show is WAY better than TTGo! It's more like the Justice League Action to the original Justice League!

That's gotta be it! That's the only way any of this makes a lick of sense. Gohan couldn't learn the Instant Transmission so he just atrophied on the existence of other Dragon Balls.

Fun fact: Tony Oliver, who plays Lupin, is also responsible for the voice direction and plays Kortopi in Hunter x Hunter!
