There are 3 shows ending on Toonami soon after JoJo gets replaced by Lupin (assuming no marathon on July 6th): The Promised Neverland (Ends 6/29; empty slot 7/6?) Hunter X Hunter (Also Ends 6/22; empty slot 6/29) Sword Art Online: Alicization (Ends 7/13 assuming no 7/6 marathon; empty slot 7/20) I believe their replacements will be announced at MomoCon, at least the first two. Also, we'll get something about The Forge and maybe a teaser for the Blade Runner series as well.

Watch this space, because soon we'll get to know 18-34s for My Hero Academia's final arc (so far)!

I kinda hope going forward, [as] offers some original programming on weeknights. Monday-Thursday have been a wasteland of reruns for FAR too long (though I'll admit I often watch The Boondocks) and it would be better if every night at 10 PM (with a 1:30 repeat) they had something original to offer. But with Final Space coming soon as well, this might be a reality!

Rank the Toonami shows that aired this week!
OwlChemist81 replied to Blatch's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Toonami Block airing 5/11/19: #10: Boruto - A rather electrifying episode, just showing how far this week raised the bar #09: Shippuden - Nothing makes a good mother like saving your newborn from a giant 9-tailed fox! #08: Attack on Titan - Pyxis is THE MAN!! But the rest was kinda uneventful until the twist at the end. #07: Hunter x Hunter - The Alluka/Nanika storyline is starting to merge with the election storyline! #06: Promised Neverland - Double-Agent Ray, plus maybe searching for secret passages not a good idea? #05: Black Clover - A drinking contest between Charlotte and Vanessa made for a great time! Cheers! #04: JoJo Part 4 - A new Queen-themed stand enters the fray, and for one boy it's Groundhog Day! #03: SAO: Alicization - No surprise the lolis were a trap, but then the fight with Fanatio was just stunning! #02: Dragon Ball Super - Great episode, even if Funimation slightly botched the presentation #01: My Hero Academia - All Might vs. All For One was just plain glorious, everything we'd hoped it would be! -
THIS IS A SCHEDULE UPDATE ALERT
OwlChemist81 replied to PokeNirvash's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I'm glad AOT and Promised Neverland ended up back-to-back. Two shows in which human beings are not the top of the food chain being together makes sense! Hell, we COULD even call it the "Jeffrey Dahmer Power Hour!" [but we won't] -
This is perplexing, considering the only thing [as] airs on weeknights Monday-Thursday is reruns. I can't see a show like PRIMAL taking over the Jellies' current timeslot on Sunday nights, and Fridays would probably be just as disappointing. Plus, Jack Season 5 DID air on weeknights. It had a Wednesday night timeslot at 10 PM. Of course, the solution is obvious: GIVE TOONAMI a weeknight timeslot!!
-
Hey now, that was the whole premise of Gurren Lagann and we gave THAT a pass! Is this the best season of SAO yet? Yes, I'd say it is. If only because this VR world is so realistic they animate real blood and not that glowing triangles crap when someone dies!

If you expected huge numbers for last week's episode of Dragon Ball Super, pat yourself on the back. But the 2nd-highest [as] show is surprising, and probably due in part to an accidental omission: Just barely edged out by Live PD in 18-34 and EASILY winning the night in Male 12-34, rising 0.05, was Dragon Ball Super, but JoJo not only captured 2nd best of the night, it also TIED in Male 12-34 with Live PD! However, of course it was edged out by Promised Neverland in 18-34!! Speaking of 18-34, Dragon Ball Super actually pulled off back-to-back weeks of over 0.45, which translates to an estimate of over 300K!! That would not have been possible if DBS had been aired on Toonami as a 1-hour special like it was in Japan. Of course, the error is the fact that SAO was not included in this chart. This also happened with the final episode of KILL la KILL back in 2015 and has also befallen Black Clover since it fell from the 11:30 slot. Whether this was just an error or will be the case going forward is unknown. http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-5-11-2019.html Here's what we know so far. MHA kinda blew it: 5/11/19 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention DBZ Kai 408,000 DBS (R) 399,000 97.79% DBS (P) 875,000 MHA 556,000 63.54% TPN 468,000 84.17% SAO3 JoJo4 414,000 B. THIS IS A SCHEDULE UPDATE ALERT
OwlChemist81 replied to PokeNirvash's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Good Grief! No friggin' way are they airing that at 10:30! I'm glad AOT is getting its original 11:30 timeslot back! After the first season, it's only aired then for marathons and that weird double-header they did last year because they couldn't figure out what the hell to do with the extra timeslot after FLCL's repeat run. So, HxH has 7 episodes left. That covers May and June. But the Promised Neverland ALSO has 7 episodes left! So they will end at the same time and we'll get TWO new shows in July! Either that, or Toonami shrinks back to an 8-show block from 11-3. But I doubt that's going to happen. The fact that they're not putting on a rerun at 3:30 seems to indicate that they're comfortable with a 10-show block. -
Oh, I gotcha. I live a state over so I'm not so worried about hotel and plane tickets! I'm thinking about getting a 1-day admission just to see the Toonami panel, maybe a 1-night stay in a hotel if need be.
