  1. I'm defiantly hanging on to all three (JoJo Part 3, Outlaw Star, and Megalobox) in my DVR right now. They're not perfect--a few of JoJo Part 3's episodes didn't record completely, the Hot Springs Episode of Outlaw Star is an SD version, and so is one later episode of Megalobox (10 I believe), due to a power outage and a monsoon, respectively, and THAT is the problem with "no reruns". But I digress. The weird thing is, while Megalobox doesn't have a 2nd season (at least, not YET), Mob Psycho does, and it's in a similar situation. Perhaps the long-term plan is for Toonami to re-acquire Season 1 and air that again before Season 2? Who only knows?
  2. Then why does it still have Lupin III listed at 11:30? It simply hasn't been updated yet with the real schedule. For that matter, neither has August 24th: https://www.tvpassport.com/tv-listings/stations/cartoon-network-usa-eastern-feed/661/2019-08-24 So yeah, we DEFINITELY can't go by that. Dr. Stone was announced last Friday for this this coming week's block; therefore I'd say the current standard operating procedure is that Friday is the latest we find out what's going to be on the block for the Saturday 8 days later. But the marathon on August 31st theory DOES have something big going against it: a new show premiering this weekend. They're usually wary about premiering a new show only to take it off the air the following week, even if JUST for a week. In the history of Toonami on [as], I think it's only happened once. In the recent past, Gundam IBO Season 2's ill-fated 3 AM rerun is the only thing that qualifies.
  3. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/fire-force/episode-4/.149673 Rating: 3⭐. It seems our reviewer James found Fire Force's Esdeath wannabe with Nia's eyes just as annoying as some of y'all did! Hopefully Episode 5 has less of her and more of the good stuff, like the showdown between Shinra and sentient Infernal Miyamoto. Yes, more of that, please. Though to be perfectly fair I WAS enjoying the action with the OTHER Company 5 girls!
  4. It has the wrong shows for 2:30 (To Be Announced) and 3 AM (Gemusetto Macho Picchu) Central, so I'm not sure how reliable that is.
  5. "Slated for release in early 2020" Interesting--that's around the same time we'd be on 3rd Plate on Toonami!! I wonder if we'll actually get some dub premiere Food Wars next year? Or maybe it will be more like MID-2020 by the time Food Wars gets to 3rd Plate on Toonami? Whatever the case, I'm certainly enjoying this show a lot more than I thought I would! I guess I'm a sucker for the fact that characters wield cleavers and other knivery similarly to weapons in battle shonens! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/food-wars-shokugeki-no-soma/episode-7/.88223 Rating: "B+". Our reviewer, Rebecca, was obviously turned-off by Ikumi's over-the-top sexuality (the boob antics), but offers some insight as to it actually pointing to a higher degree of character development than we've seen from the show at this point. A SUMMER CAMP arc is up next?? I'm intrigued...
  6. This show is just cool! Sure, this was kind of a "training and explanations" episode, with no real danger, but it was wonderfully well-executed, and despite good voice cast work all-around, especially from Maisie Williams' Cammie, David Tennant still totally stole the show! But it is quite shocking that material Toonami used for a promo didn't actually get to air. I found it neat that we got the full OP back instead, though!
  7. I thought this was gonna be "the Frieza and Dyspo show", but Gohan made himself the star--and the sacrifice. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/dragon-ball-super/episode-124/.126718 Grade: "B". And looks like 5 on 3 just became 4 on 2, but those 2 are each more than enough for 2 Universe 7 Z-Fighters to take on!
  8. Yeah, I think marathons may not be compatible with near-simuldubs.
  9. THIS JUST IN: http://www.adultswim.com/schedule It's apparently episode 16 of season 3 we're getting at 4 AM next week. Season 3 has 25 total episodes, so does that mean we get Season 4 in 11 weeks? Assuming no breaks for marathons, that would mean November 2nd...
  10. I guess you COULD argue that FLCL Alternative was Josei... I'd argue that it's the best show on the block, but the ONLY good show? I don't know about that. In my book even Boruto is better than like 90% of what Adult Swim airs outside of Toonami. But this episode, yes, definitely the best episode on the block this week! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/lupin-the-third-part-5/episode-10/.132526 Grade: "A+"! Interesting that our reviewer, Rose, decided not to talk about how brutally the femme fatales were dispatched by Lupin, Goemon, and Albert, but quite a glowing review nonetheless that taps into the mystery that is Lupin. Can Lupin steal the show again next week, airing at 3:30 AM and in the same hour as Gundam? Only time will tell...
  11. Sucks that old man Minovsky got killed by his own invention, or a stupid ripoff thereof, but yeah, that was totally planned by Cas--umm, I mean Char! I thought we would to the titular Red Comet by episode 9-ish, but 7, the literal midpoint of the series? I never expected that! Hopefully they explain in Episode 8 how in the hell he even got the thing!
  12. Beat by his own "destructo-disk!"
  13. Are we sure Char's a villain? He DID just rescue Lalah!
  14. Oh, it's that girl from the ED!!!
  15. So Kabuto vs. Madara? To be fair that IS a battle I wanna see! But for now, ON to the Gundam goodness!!!
  16. Yeah, you're right! DAMN!
  17. Oh dear, here we go again! You would THINK that some different characters get involved with Sasori's Puppet Madness this time around, but NOPE...SAME CHARACTERS!!! Edit: Oh wait, that was actually a flashback. Man, this show is confusing sometimes. I really should have noticed because the show conveniently went back to 720p "Middle-D!"
  18. Of course it wouldn't! Remember what they did with AOTS1 airing at 3:30 before AOTS3P2 aired (mostly) at 11:30? Yeah, gonna be like that.
  19. Episode #63 (Season 3, Episode 25) When MHA first came to Toonami, did you ever think the show would end at 3:30 AM? Neither did I, but here we are! Though I guess it turns out they're rerunning the show at 4 AM, I guess to pave the way for an AOT-style simuldub of season 4! But catch the last episode of Season 3 at 3:30 AM Saturday Night (8/17)! ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  20. I'd argue that you're right about Food Wars, since it's gonna last pretty much forever. But I believe it was actually supposed to be the replacement for HxH directly in its timeslot, but Sentai relented. That's where the Gundam moving 3 AM to 1 AM rumor probably originated. Dr. Stone has potential. I'd say it's likely to move up to 11:30 once gen:LOCK ends!
  21. Episode #10: "Thief and Thief" Lupin steals your heart one last time at 12:30 tomorrow night (8/17)!! And if you're just watching the show at 12:30, you might think it's the final episode, but don't be fooled, because after this week, Lupin's laying low at 3:30 AM! Zenigata would stay up that late to catch him, so no excuses!! ONLY TOONAMI!!!
