  1. To be fair, I guess you can get HBO to get it back!
  2. Get ready for Part 5 of this great filler movie redux! 2:30 AM to end a great night of Toonami!!!
  3. They don't have unlimited bandwidth, so it makes sense to me. Weird that Primal has already left, considering its last episode follows Toonami tonight. Samurai Jack also has 2 episodes left on Adult Swim until it gets pulled for the foreseeable future, so the fact that it has already left is strange. Or it could be just a mistake. There IS a 24/7 Samurai Jack streaming channel now, for example!
  4. Is gen:LOCK season 2 one of the HBO max launch shows? If so, I dare Toonami to marathon Season 1 on the Saturday before Memorial Day, only this time, do it uncut! Sure that would extend Toonami to 4.5 hours for one night only, as the first and last episodes would be 45 minutes long, so episodes 2-7 would air at 45 minutes and 15 minutes after the hour, but it WOULD be a great way to promote Season 2, especially if it contains sneak peeks!
  5. Wait, seriously? "Notorious B.I.G.??" *Checks guide* Nope, renamed the infinitely lamer "Notorious Chase!" 🤦‍♂️ That doesn't even make a lick of sense! I get too much "oo" to go with "Huge", but couldn't he have at least been more like "Notorious Large?" I thought the general rule of copyrighted-name dodging was to use a synonym of one of the names. This utterly failed at that!
  6. I kinda hope one of 2 things happen: 1. This is successful enough that it moves to 8 PM beginning with Season 2, or 2. This gets paired with another rerun at 5 AM and rebranded Toonami: Rising Sun beginning with Season 2.
  7. Episode 2: The Golden Shoes Meet these two schoolboys, and witness their burgeoning conflict!! 1 AM TOMORROW NIGHT (5/2-5/3/20) ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  8. Episode #85 (Season 4, Episode 22): School Festival Start!! <Unfortunately, no topical this time.> Like the last one, this great episode of MHA was lovingly dubbed from dozens of voice actors' homes! Enjoy it and be gracious!! MIDNIGHT TOMORROW (5/2-5/3/20), ONLY TOONAMI!!
  9. Episode 26: "New Mission" Don't miss the finale of the first season of the best new anime in 2019! 12:30 AM Tomorrow Night (5/2-5/3/20) ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  10. Page 115: "Mastermind" 1:30 AM tomorrow night (5/2-5/3/20) ONLY TOONAMI!!
  11. So I guess this means we have a consensus that Fate/Apocrypha would probably be the most accessible show for Toonami to use to "test the waters" for the Fate franchise?
  12. Well, I guess I was wrong. Paranoia Agent didn't do as well as I had hoped, which is somewhat shocking given its #3 Twitter Trend. "DRAGON BALL at 0.11/263K & 0.11/255K compared to last week’s 0.14/341K & 0.15/327K, MY HERO ACADEMIA down 0.01 to 0.29, DEMON SLAYER down 0.02 to 0.24, PARANOIA AGENT at 0.20/374K, BLACK CLOVER down 0.04 to 0.20/374K, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE down 0.01 to 0.19/340K, NARUTO down 0.02 to 0.16/298K, PRIMAL up 0.02 to 0.17/302K and SAMURAI JACK up 0.01 to 0.16/292K." That's #6 out of 17 for the year in total viewers, but for the 12-3A time frame, it places 3rd. In 18-49, it's estimated at 5th place for the year, but just comparing the 12-3A time frame, is estimated to come in 4th.
  13. You don't know how this works by now? For ratings purposes, OBVIOUSLY it was ineligible for this Top 150 since it was considered to be a rerun. No way it tanked so bad it fell off the Top 150 and then JoJo rebounded! Based on what we know so far, I'd estimate it did ~400K and 0.22 18-49.
  14. I really should have posted this on Saturday, and I will try to going forward, but before I post this week's ShowBuzzDaily Top 50, first let's take a look back at the Top 40 from 5 years ago Saturday: This was one of the highest-rated lineups to that point in the year, but did this Year's version follow the same pattern? Well, not exactly, though there IS a similarity: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-4-25-2020.html The lead eligible show landed at #5 both years, and another show landed at #8, but the similarities end there. Five years ago was the "girl power" era of Toonami, as can be observed through those massive numbers in Female 12-34. Five years later, that demographic has mostly left Toonami for the likes of Live PD and the Hunger Games marathon, though to be fair, those aired in different timeslots. But MHA did pull the second-highest total viewers (down only from last week) and an estimated at least 3rd place in Adults 18-49.
  15. Yeah, some of us are, that's for sure! But I don't feel that's the case with everyone. In fact, I'm optimistic that, while this pandemic will take its toll (and it already has), it will also teach us that not just any old idiot can run the country. Hopefully it will be the shift back toward government by the intelligent, or "sapiocracy."
  16. I dug the hell out of Zero, but I wonder if Apocrypha would be a better potential starting place for Toonami, since Grand Order is apparently stuck in pandemic hell. After all, Toonami needs new-ish shows to get through 2020, and Apocrypha, from 2018 (I believe) would definitely fit the bill. Even if it does have its share of Otaku-pandering stupidity, hell, we got SAO, and that's just full of it!
  17. There is one thing we have on our side this time: science has 100 more years of progress. We might have that "Eureka" moment between now and then which changes the equation, but if we don't, yep, it's gonna be ugly!
  18. I'm fairly certain PA was a new contract, but I don't think Mob is. Yes, it did disappear from streaming, but I think that was more a bandwidth issue than anything. If they got it on a 2-year deal, they WOULD still have the rights to this 2020 rerun since it aired beginning October 2018.
  19. Is there anything that came out in Japan in Fall 2019 or Winter 2020 that didn't get a simuldub that would fit Toonami? That show would probably be Toonami's best bet for a post-MHA leading show that is a dub premiere. Well, either that or Uzumaki, but that would only buy them 4 weeks until a new leading show can be secured. If that show is longer than one cour, that would be best because it might buy them enough time to ride out the worst of this pandemic until science can uncover an effective treatment or vaccine, or Japan's model can shift to a method of production of new seasons that is compatible with the precautions that must be taken. And I guess, barring Japan figuring this out sooner, we'll just have to settle for Toonami being a hodgepodge of classic shows, reruns, and network premieres (for example, I expect Food Wars to return at some point with Third Plate) after the lead show. But that lead show needs to either be a dub premiere or pretty darn close to it!
  20. Sam Riegel, who also voices Metal Bat in One-Punch Man!
  21. No, and neither did Samurai Champloo. But it DID have a teaser and a full long-form promo! Outlaw Star is a title I certainly wouldn't mind them giving another spin during this pandemic, but ONLY if it's at 2:30 AM or later. And of course keep in mind that Toonami DID lose the rights to it that they picked up in 2017.
  22. Some show had to! MHA didn't have the dub for Episode #85 done in time. I daresay they could even reuse the Mob Psycho 100 promos for the return of that. If topical promos for reruns is the weirdest thing Toonami-related that comes out of this pandemic, we'll be doing good!
  23. Thanks. Someone mentioned that it was 5, but I had also heard that it was 6. I'll probably do a rewatch in 2 weeks of 1-5 so they'll be fresh on my mind by the time 6 airs!
  24. Too bad they don't have any energy left!!
