Last year, there were no Christmas parties at work, nor were there any in my extracurricular organizations. I think I attended ONE. This year, I went to SIX, on top of my family's gathering, which this year was unmasked, while last year we had to wear masks and eat in different rooms of the house. This year, we actually got to eat at the same table. Oh look, it's... EP1S0DE 4 - THE D0LL HUNT

They're back to save Toonami!! Maybe they'll even reacquire and rerun Season 1 because...reasons... -
I really hope Toonami has first rights of refusal on the special. Would probably make a pretty good program for July 2nd or September 3rd...

What needs to happen is the law needs to change. An exclusivity contract should be bound to one type of medium and non-transferrable to any other, regardless of circumstances. No amount of "fuck you" money from a streaming service that has no equivalent on a different medium of communication should be able to keep someone in that medium from obtaining rights to something. In other words, a "have the potential to use it or lose it" law. Yes, I realize under those circumstances, no TCP/IP medium such as adultswim.com would be allowed to stream JoJo, but that's a small price to pay. It would be bound only to Cable and Satellite under the Toonami aegis, where those annoying Netflix bastards dare not tread. But then again, such a law just might end up with them setting up a Cable/Satellite equivalent and getting the last "fuck you." -
animatrix The Animatrix Unevenedge 2021 Discussion!!!

What is interesting is these segments were played somewhat out of order compared to the DVD, as could briefly be seen by the "ANIMATRIX" title screen leading-in to "Final Flight of the Osiris." As you would probably guess, that segment actually comes first on the DVD, but it aired last on Toonami's 2021 airing. Up next on the DVD were the "Second Renaissance" segments, which took the lead on Toonami last weekend, and then following that was "Program," which came 5th on the DVD. Up on both the DVD and Toonami were "World Record", but on Toonami it was followed by "Kid's Story", which came 4th on the DVD. Next, on Toonami was "Beyond", and then after that "Detective's Story" and "Matriculated" followed on both the DVD and the TV broadcast, but of course on TV "Matriculated" was followed by "...Osiris", while that was the final segment on the DVD. If that sounds confusing, to sum up, you'll remember the order the segments aired on Toonami this past week was: The Second Renaissance Part I The Second Renaissance Part II Program World Record Kid's Story Beyond Detective's Story Matriculated Final Flight Of The Osiris But the order they follow on the DVD release was: Final Flight of the Osiris The Second Renaissance Part I The Second Renaissance Part II A Kid's Story Program World Record Beyond Detective's Story Matriculated Just found that a bit interesting. -

Bleach - Thousand Year Blood War Arc to premiere October 2022

Toonami's gonna get this! 🤞 -
Update: Adult Swim’s late-night line-up performed as follows: BLADE RUNNER: BLACK LOTUS at 0.10, YASHAHIME at 0.08/0.08/0.07, NARUTO at 0.07, FENA at 0.07/113K, DR STONE steady at 0.06/102K, and DRAGON BALL up 0.01 to 0.06/115K. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Dr. Stone back on the schedule to finish out its 3-peat run in 2022, but then again I guess it's doing about as well as anything would at 3 AM these days.

Welp. https://showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-saturday-12-11-2021-top-150-cable-originals-network-finals.html The second weekend in December is not historically bright for Toonami, as it featured the "unholy megabomb" of Hellsing Ultimate and FMA: Milos in 2014 that hit a new ratings low at the time, but since then of course that relative nadir has been eclipsed as the Age of Streaming gets more and more aggressive. However, I have to admit I expected better than #49 for Black Lotus and NOTHING else making the Top 50! If there is a silver lining, it's that the Yashahime premieres and the accidental rerun managed to maintain over a 0.07 in Adults 18-49 and over 150K total viewers. While Shippuden kept the 0.07 going, it dropped to 128K viewers. Apparently the 1.5 College Football stadiums'-full of RYFs really didn't care that they were watching a rerun, or they held out hope that the season finale would air in Shippuden's regular timeslot.

what could toonami be like In January?
OwlChemist81 replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Hopefully they get to roll right into Yashahime: Second Act, and at this point, I'd say they pretty much have to, and even THEN we could be looking at a schedule that is half-reruns. The real tragedy of Harley Quinn not having its 13th episode, Season 1's finale, follow Yashahime's on 1/1/22 is it seems it won't become a regular part of the weekly lineup, and at a time when Toonami could use a hand-me-down from HBO Max, even if it would need to be heavily edited. Speaking of potential hand-me-downs from HBO Max, gen:Lock Season 2 is also a possibility even if it's a total trainwreck, and it turns out IT would have to be heavily edited. Either it or HQ airing at 1 AM (10 PM PST) would probably be OK and a decent stopgap if they're being "frozen out" of new anime acquisitions. Of course end the premieres after the new 1 AM show with Shippuden at 1:30, then Cowboy Bebop at 2, Fena at 2:30, Dr. Stone at 3, and Dragon Ball Super at 3:30. -
Well, I listened to the Demon Slayer podcast where they cover this tweet, and it's quite interesting. But one of the unintended effects of it is I discovered Peacock actually does stream anime, but I just checked for myself and most of it, including Megalobox, is subbed, and that's NOT Season 2: Nomad either. Among the dubs, which there don't seem to be many, probably the most standout title they have that Toonami has never aired is Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? but they do also have Parasyte -The Maxim- dubbed and that's really cool. Oddly enough, they also have Food Wars Seasons 1 & 2, also a Sentai show, but it's subtitled. They don't seem to have much of a concept of choosing subbed or dubbed with their anime; everything is one or the other.
