  1. I don't know if it actually aired, but there IS a 1-minute version on Toonami's Facebook page!
  2. Ironically, THAT explosion didn't please Deidara!! 🤣
  3. Yeah, I saw that there wasn't another one so I started it.
  4. I guess this is the official thread, since it reached "HOT!" status first!
  5. I floated this one. I made it while the other one posted, apparently?
  6. Wow, we didn't have a Discussion thread for this! Let's go!!
  7. NOW the dragon learns to fly and be a total pain in the ass!? SERIOUSLY!?
  8. The interesting thing is this CAN'T go on for THAT much longer! We're on episodes aired in January 2023 in Japan now and this will be the first 2 from February airing in 2 weeks. In fact, the first 2023 thing Toonami aired was actually the 12:30 episode last week, which premiered in Japan on 1/2/23 by my math. Of course it was overshadowed by the hype of the One Piece Crossover special, so it kind of happened quietly. The years of the animation in the shows in terms of when it first premiered to the world in some form is as follows, on March 18th and going forward: 12 & 12:30 AM MHA - 2023 1 AM Food Wars 5th Plate - 2020 1:30 AM One Piece - 2013 2 AM Naruto Shippuden - 2015 2:30 AM PRIMAL - 2022 Of course, if things continue at this pace, MHA will catch up to the Japanese airing by the end of April (assuming there are still any episodes left), so there must be something to break the monotony. And that something will probably be the AOT special, which we are likely to see premiere in early April, keeping the first hour of the block 2023-fresh and pre-empting Food Wars 5th Plate for a week. Also, ironically Crunchyroll continues to take over the block!
  9. After an absolutely gut-wrenching hour of MHA, we're all gonna need something to lighten the mood, so how about a bunch of pirates, samurai, marines, and others trying desperately to escape from a metal fortress being increasingly taken over by a purple petrifying gas? No? Well at least we've still got Killer Bee Rappuden Part 2 to look forward to, fool, ya fools!! Witness the ongoing carnage at 1 AM tonight, March 11-12, 2023, in what's sure to be one of the DARKEST Toonami blocks to air in a while, and we just got through DC Injustice not that long ago!
  10. I read that, and now I wish I hadn't. Good grief. Note: this is Episodes 14-15 of Season 6.
  11. Pretty clear that no one really gives a damn about the ratings anymore, but just in case you're curious... https://showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-saturday-3-4-2023-top-150-cable-originals-network-finals.html MHA hanging on for dear life at #50!
  12. SAO is pseudo-isekai Sci-Fi. Well, now some of it is historical fiction! 🤣
  13. I GUESS Toonami COULD still start at 11:30 that night... March 25th WOULD be a fun little setup for a 30-minute gag on April 1st before regular Toonami took over on April 2nd. Toonami France, anyone???
  14. Regarding MHA being doubled up for a 3rd week, I now believe the plan is to air the AOT special one week at Midnight and leave Food Wars 5th Plate at 1 AM that week, effectively knocking out BOTH episodes of MHA for a week. That week is probably either March 25th or April 2nd. It certainly makes sense not to premiere something at 12:30 for a week if it's just going to be pulled the following week for a special. And I'm guessing the reason they CAN double up MHA is that it's been off the schedule twice on Christmas and New Year's. That signals another disturbance may be coming. But trying to find reason in Toonami scheduling these days feels like a fool's errand. As long as they don't screw up my DVR recordings, I guess I'm just along for the ride!
  15. I would be inclined to agree with you EXCEPT for the 3 originals that have been promised. They may not bring back the Golden Age of Toonami, as acquisitions still look to be lean, but they may avoid another ACTN Dark Age. If they get written off, however, all bets are off.
  16. In this thread, we discuss when Toonami's "Golden Age" on [as] was so far and why. My thoughts? 2015-2019. It started in 2015 after the cut-down to 3.5 hours, when KILL la KILL and SAOII were acquired for the block and DBZ Kai led the charge to record ratings the night that Akame ga KILL!! premiered. It continued through 2016 as DBZ Kai continued to lead the block as Parasyte, Dimension W, Gundam IBO, One-Punch Man, and Jojo all successfully rode its coattails, and the classic Samurai Champloo even got in on the action. All that time, the block rarely expanded from its 3.5-hour footprint despite smashing records, though there were huge exceptions for DST in 2015 and 2016, as well as a Parasyte rerun burn-off night in 2016. In 2017-2019, the ratings across all cable softened, but Toonami entered an age of expansion, doubling down on Dragonball by adding Dragon Ball Super and peaking at 8 hours in November 2018. It ended in 2019 after DBS ended and MHA Season 4 took its place, eventually contracting back to its current size of 3 hours as the pandemic took hold in 2020. And, while 2021-22 was certainly interesting with its influx of Crunchyroll originals and Housing Complex C, those eventually got written off and in late 2022, the block shrunk back to its current 3-hour time frame which it has yet to stir from in 2023. And so far this year, after a glut of world premieres the previous two, the only dub premiere has been a one-off One Piece crossover special which aired last week. One could argue it has fallen to its lowest point since the summer of 2020, since this coming weekend it will rely on 5 non-exclusive network premieres over only 3 shows and a played-out rerun. But, with promises of new FLCL and miniseries Uzumaki and Ninja Kamui, as well as some AOT specials thrown in there, could the next Golden Age be just around the corner?
  17. So you do a sub-par job with your network and get rewarded!? Hopefully they'll sell WBD again soon. I hope this time Sony's buying!
  18. Maybe Toonami will somehow be able to get this show??
  19. If you've ever wanted to see Sasori battle Killer Bee, tonight's your lucky night! As well as next week!!
  20. We technically got to 50% of the block tonight!
  21. That was COOL!! And it's probably gonna be a while before we see the Crunchyroll logo on Toonami 3 times in the same night!
  22. They're certainly pulling out all the stops in this fun little special!!
