>no metal unless it's good or unique

Russian Circles are good but nobody can agree on whether or not they're post-rock

I've probably shilled Boards of Canada and Autechre a hundred times on here now but you seem like a /mu/tant so you know who they are.

currently listening to The Fragile but everyone and their grandma knows NIN.

The Cardigans - First Band on the Moon

Ween - The Mollusk

Silver Jews - American Water -

Rodriguez - Cold Fact

Camper Van Beethoven - Telephone Free Landslide Victory

Jib Kidder  - Teaspoon to the Ocean (cool to put this video on tv and stare at the vids in a haze)

You might like these by Elvis Depressedly https://m.youtube.com/results?q=elvis%20depressedly%20full%20album&sm=3

I like this group's sound, A Tribe Called Red https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Are_the_Halluci_Nation

Tracey Trance - Pyper Kub - I listened to this nonstop for a few months last year I liked it so much. The whole album isn't on yt so just gonna link the search results if you want a preview before downloading

Granddaddy has a new album if you like their old ones. Mountain Goats - Goths is about to come out. https://themountaingoats.bandcamp.com/album/goths

Built to Spill's newest one Untethered Moon from a couple years ago isn't bad if you like them. My favorite of their last few releases is There is No Enemy

Cool Blood Brothers album if you're into it https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimes_(album)

This thing is a masterpiece - Abner Jay

Electric Warrior by T-Rex

The Seer by Swans

Hard to pick a fav Kinks album so Village Green because it's easy

All of Deerhunter's albums from 2007-2010

Gonna recommend Slint because you hate it and you're wrong.

If you like shoegaze then Russian Circles do a lot of textured atmospheric stuff though it's not the same as shoegaze.

Maybe you'll like Porcupine Tree? I hate these cringey fan-made lyric videos though.

I was going to suggest this A+ Ween song

Shabazz Palaces (experimental hip-hop)

Kiasmos (ambient electronic)

For what it's worth, a lot of the metal bands in my profile are stuff I haven't listened to in three years or more.

and stuff to listen to.

ill listen to everything except metal, unless it's good or unique, 90's rap, folk, country, shit like edward sharpe and the magnetic zeroes, mumford and sons, and 90's grunge.

no meme rap pls

Favorite albums:

Radiator Hospital's Torch Song

Ezra Furman's Day of the Dog

Janelle Monae's Archandroid

The National's Boxer

Paul Simon's Graceland

Diablo Swing Orchestra's The Butcher's Ballroom (Metal, but I think it occupies the good/unique requirement)

Chris Thile's Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. 1

and because it's one song, but a severely underrated gem of pop lyricism:

Savage Garden's Santa Monica

ive been avoiding ween, but this is actually pretty good.

ive been looking for more experimental hip hop since listening to danny brown, the pharcyde, and madvilliany.

Silkworm - Firewater

Ween - Pure Guava

Guided By Voices - Isolation Drills

If you already like GBV I'd recommend the Suitcase compilations. Suitcase I and IV are particularly fun, but being intimated with at least a few of their albums helps. Alien Lanes and Bee Thousand are great.
