Azalar Hex
Mother fucking bed bugs. We had a nightmare back at the start of the year cleaning everything out and steaming the shit out of this apartment for three months. Had to live out of garbage bags. No dishes. Everything plastic. Throw everything out. Shower every time we leave and every time we get back. The little fuckers are back. The landlord didn't charge us for cleaning last time, but said we will be if they return. And constantly reassured us saying we aren't some sort of filth attracting morons and that bedbugs can come from literally anywhere. Yet we are to be fucked over by a $4000 bill if they show up again. And they have come right the fuck back. So I am fucked. Fuck fuckity fuckedfuckedfucked. Azalar Hex
I'm getting on the edge of just screaming as loud as I can right now. This whole disaster hasn't set in all the way yet. I'm staring at my bed knowing I won't be able to sleep in it again for weeks like the last time this happened. I won't be sleeping period. Every fucking waking moment is going to be spent feeling like they are crawling all over the place. I'm not ready for this shit again.
Rogue_Alphonse
It sucks man, I worked at an apartment complex where people would go visit their families overseas and bring bed bugs back. It's a long process to get rid of them. Honestly, you shouldn't have to fork the bill legally (at least in my state). You can take legal action or use renter's insurance to help you out. Do what you can to diminish the issue but in the meantime find a better, cleaner place to move to. Wash everything twice. Spray everything. Bed bugs will reside in warm, dark places. Hate to say it, but ditch your mattress and box spring and buy a new one along with protective covers. Pull your rugs up on the corners of the rooms, and look for them. Google is a good source of what to focus on and how to keep it all under control.
Azalar Hex
Yeah we've been through all the deep cleaning and throw everything out crap. We had an infestation that showed up here in November of last year. I went through the steps of researching what to do, what to clean, what has to go, what has to stay in a bag for three months. Got new mattresses, got bags to put over those mattresses. Threw out the old ones and about six bags of clothes, blankets, and pillows. Three cabinets, and two couches. Even had to throw out the pictures my niece had drawn for me and the little paper cat she made which really pissed me off. The entire thing was a massive shitstorm of boiled ass and I was happy when it was over. But now it has just fucking hit the reset button on itself. And the landlord isn't giving us a free pass this time.
Rogue_Alphonse
It is partly your landlord's responsibility to find the root cause. They do not have to tell you who it is, but they need to go through and find or at least try to find, preferrably with an exterminator because they are the experts on how and where the root cause is. Honestly you'll take another loss, but get the fuck out of there asap.
Sieg67
Bedbugs have nothing to do with filth. It sounds like one of your neighbors may have brought them back. If that's the case, you shouldn't have to pay for anything. What your landlord should do is treat all the effected rooms along with every room next to those rooms at the same time. That's how hotels do it. Otherwise they just be jumping from one room to another.

Juice McKenzie
What about hiring a professional exterminator?
Vamped
Find a new place. I'd seek some legal advice if they're going to bill you and see if you can break your lease because of the bugs returning
