Swimmod_Luna Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Me (probably) Tried to see if I could go in early to avoid being forced into 3rd shift but they said they were covered for 1st shift. Then they called me back like an hour later and said something came up and I could come in if I wanted to but by then it was too late and unless I left my apartment right that minute I couldn't have made it on time. So now I'm just gonna go in at my scheduled time and I bet they're gonna tell me they need me to stay for all of 3rd shift. Just you wait and see
MEXobiologist Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 ::: ... what are your breaks like for a shift like that?
Distortedreasoning Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 ::: ... what are your breaks like for a shift like that? probably just double the normal break? or maybe even take more breaks. thats what i woud do.
MEXobiologist Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 probably just double the normal break? or maybe even take more breaks. thats what i woud do. I'm curious really. At my place we are only open 12.5 hours, so thats about the max you can work... other ppl, not me. They don't give them hours out to full timers cuz they won't do overtime. Anywho, anything 6 or more gets a 45 lunch and two 15 breaks. Once you hit 10, you get one extra 15.
MEXobiologist Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 lol, though, thats company guidelines. The state of MI doesn't require you provide breaks or lunches to any worker unless they are a minor. No matter the hours....
Distortedreasoning Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 i guess it just depends. im working 12 hour compressed shifts and i dont know what the guidelines are but i know i take about 5 hours of break a day. other jobs would be the normal 30 lunch, 2x 15 minute breaks. if anytime they asked me to work extra i'd tell them to go fuck themselves.

Swimmod_Luna Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 ::: ... what are your breaks like for a shift like that? One half hour and one fifteen minute break per shift. TBF most residents are in bed by like 8 so it's a lot of sitting around. Can't use my phone but can read or watch TV in the common area if I don't have a one on one.
