Dark_Cloud_Overhead Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Finally! Was trying all last night, but just gave up after One Piece started. Most I could do was log in a couple of times, but boards kept timing out on me after that. Hopefully next week things run a little bit more smoother. 4

It would load forever and then time out. I tried it on mobile Chrome and Samsung Internet on my phone and it wouldn't work. It finally loaded on my PC on Chrome, but then when I went to sign in (I was signed out on my PC for some reason,) the button simply did nothing. Then I tried later and it timed out on the PC too. I have no idea how Danger got posts through haha. I'm glad the boards are up and running again and I hope this doesn't happen this Saturday. Any idea what caused this? 1

Oh yeah, I was curious about that, cuz it seemed really weird to me. So I looked it up, and it's not quite true the way they explained it in the show. Worms will come to the surface when the ground gets wet so they can get more oxygen, but they're normally able to go back into the ground once it stops raining. So it's not really the heat that makes them just dry out and die so much, but rather them getting trapped on the surface because they'll wander onto sidewalks or pavement and become disoriented and unable to find their way back to the soil. That's what results in them drying up or being exposed to too much UV light, which they are very susceptible to tissue damage from. The show got that part absolutely right anyway. Realistically though, that giant worm should have been unable to get back into the ground without too much trouble I think, especially since it was only the ground right around the house that was getting wet. But hey, it's anime not Mr. Wizard, so it's all good. 1
