The Betrayal

 

Captain Ukitake's sacrifice has bought time for reality to stabilize, but Yhwach isn't about to sit around and let that happen!

Ichigo's group moves to counter, with everything on the line, but find themselves face to face with their former ally - Uryuu!

surely, he knows that Ichigo is also a quincy? is that the lynchpin in all this?

What does the Dan Da Dan preview entail?  If it's not a full episode I might as well wait til season 2 comes out.  And I don't want to watch the series premiere rapisode again, so I probably won't watch the marathon.

So, I can't remember exactly, but this Ichigo vs Uryu fight either never happened in the manga, or was a brief scuffle.  And Uryu somehow never had Vollstandich in the manga. x_x

Sorry Uryu, you say that but all the Quincies we've seen in the entire show besides you and Ichigo's mom have been sadistic assholes (to everyone and even to each other), so...

Uryu's being an idiot but expanding everything properly is cool.

Well there was Uryu's dad and grandpa.  And mom.  And maybe the Quinceys the Soul Reapers genocided 200 years ago weren't assholes?

Uryu's dad's screentime that I recall has always been him being a stoic jerk not sharing vital info.

Yeah, I said the mom and I don't remember the grandpa.

Well he did help eventually but yeah not the best father haha.

If you can believe it, a teaser trailer and announcement for the final season of Thousand Year Blood War dropped from Viz earlier, 40 minutes ago?  I couldn't watch it yet because the block was still going haha. 

It's coming out in July of 2026!  Hopefully Toonami won't wait as long to get the final part as it did with the first three parts!

I'm thinking Toonami will re-air the first 3 cours from March 2026 onwards in a later timeslot, perhaps taking DragonBall Daima's current 2:30 AM slot. If there are enough interruptions, maybe that would stretch all the way through 2026 and then we would kick off 2027 with the final cour.

Alternatively, we COULD be talking a double-shot of Bleach TYBW at 2 AM at some point, going through the first 40 episodes in 20 weeks. Such a scheme would mean we could get dub premieres of the final cour as early as August, but does Toonami have that kind of pull? Guess we'll see, but they're foolish if they don't rerun this.

Oh wow, that's wild if in the manga there was never a proper fight between them given Uryu's role in at least this part of the arc.
