PokeNirvash
Really, the only surprise here is that Aniplex waited this long to make an announcement on it.
Jman
They’ll be almost caught up. I’m still pretty sure Netflix is getting Hashira training first, to say nothing of the Infinity Castle trilogy.

Why do your predictions always expand the block? They have more than enough rerun slots as is that they don’t need to expand backward. And if Rick and Morty couldn’t pull us out of midnight, nothing ever will. Zero chance Primal S3 is coming out this year if it wasn’t featured at all at SDCC.

RickAniMorty is 10 episodes and will finish on October 19th with Uzumaki AND Swordsmith Village. That's how it maths without interruptions anyway. Despite their claims that Uzumaki dubs will premiere on Thursdays, I still think they'll sneak the dub airings into the backend of Toonami with the RickAniMorty dubs. Primal season 3 would have been shown at SDCC if it was airing this year, fugget a'bout it. Expansion is some very wishful thinking I'm afraid. If Aniplex bundled something with Demon Slayer like they may have with Lycoris Recoil and Demon Slayer prior, then I do think it will be Mashle. It's not the only option but it's the one that makes the most sense for them to pitch to Toonami. Signs do point to OG Naruto replacing Shippuden and it gives them the perfect excuse to show episodes 8-19 which Rewind skipped in a lower profile time slot. But I'm sure we all hope they have something more interesting than that or Boruto to replace Shippuden and OG Naruto can fill a rerun slot when Ninja Kamui cycles out. November is anyone's guess at this point but they will have 3 shows ending in October and the chances of a triple premiere aren't very good so they might stagger the premieres by having IFG or MHA premiere with an hour then start another show the week after if they don't just fall back on double One Piece or a rerun. But I'm sure we all hope they have something more interesting than that or Boruto to replace Shippuden and Consider the following for September, whatever week Naruto ends 12 - Rick and Morty anime 12:30 - Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village 1 - Mashle 1:30 - One Piece 2 - DBZ Kai 2:30 - some rerun idk Same as the last bit of DS, a friendly Aniplex bonus to air when they have the time. Of course, everything but Rick has to move down a slot for 4 weeks for Uzumaki, but that’s hardly a big deal. Then come November, MHA rolls in to become our new lead show until another original is ready. If MHA is off the table, then probably IFG. I know, Demarco’s word is worth toilet paper, but he did say they have something lined up to replace Shippuden. So I want to believe that’s actually true.
OwlChemist81
Now the real question is how does Swordsmith Village Arc's premiere's 49-minute runtime work out? Will it be... - Nicely into an hour with 11 minutes of "limited commercial interruptions"? - A "wonky" 65-70 minutes that bumps One Piece to 1:05-1:10 and knocks everything else off-kilter by a few minutes for the rest of the night? - A proper 75-minute block with 4 internal commercial breaks totalling 22 minutes and a 4-minute show gap break? My guess is the latter. And then everything else will be 15 minutes later before the newest R&M short closes out the block at 3:15.
PokeNirvash
I think a limited-commercial one-hour slot will work well for the premiere. But what I wanna know is, what about the finale?
OwlChemist81
It's 60 minutes long, right? Needs a 90-minute with commercials, right? My guess is 1-2:30 AM October 19th after R&M The Anime and Uzumaki also conclude. [as] may have just set up 10/19/24 to be a don't-miss epic night of finales on Toonami!!

Probably this one. I don’t think they care that much. For the initial run of Mugen Train and Entertainment District, Toonami was knocked off track about 2-3 minutes since they left in the Taisho Era Secrets bit. OwlChemist81
We've seen it before. As recently as March, we got all premieres 12-3 AM. In fact, I highly doubt premieres 12-2:30 won't be standard operating procedure as long as Uzumaki sub premieres are on the block. August and September may only typically contain premieres from 12-2 AM like we saw typically in June and July.
OwlChemist81
Well, now we know; it's gonna be an hour... Hope they don't have to edit for time. Nice surprise return to the block at 3 AM, but I have to admit I was kinda hoping for Zom 100 to be the new rerun. And for those who had hoped the dub of Rick & Morty: The Anime would get thrown on the back end, I guess there goes that theory... I guess on September 7th they'll probably just double up on either OP or Kai and let Ninja Kamui burn out with Episode 13 at 3 AM while MHA officially begins either the 4 recap episodes or Season 7 at 1 AM after Episode 4 of DS Swordsmith. Or, maybe the backend theory is NOT wrong after all and THAT's the week R&M Dub encores start at 3 AM from Episode 1?

Or something else? Maybe Suicide Squad? Kite Man? Creature Commandos? an surprise premiere of Get Jiro? rpgamer
Looking ahead, since I've been flip-flopping on cutting the cord.. this arc is still all up available on.. Netflix, I think, right? And I expect Uzumaki will get the typical "next day on Max" treatment.. Kinda hate losing the block vibes (even tho I've been relegated to DVR squad for a while now..). But just can't sustain currently..

But just can't sustain currently.. The arc is on Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll. Also odds are by the time this does air, Netflix will have the Hashira Training Arc. What’s going to really screw over the Toonami airing is going to be the Infinity Castle movie trilogy because Toonami doesn’t do movies and Netflix is going to want those as soon as possible.
rpgamer
Eh, maybe a bit early to call that one.. I mean, the train arc was also originally a movie that also got the episodic treatment. And ffs, if we had to sit through the shitty final finale finisher srsly last one of AoT, we could sure as hell handle these.

Toonami was entitled those AoT specials. It’s securing them that will be the issue. I agree, they will be edited into episodes at some point, but we are in for a long wait.
