My Hero Academia Episode#104(516): Long Time No See(Discussion)

Recommended Posts

For those wondering while watching the episode:

The third MHA movie was released in Japan around the middle of Season 5 and takes place during Deku's, Bakugo's and Todoroki's internship. People have vague ideas of who exactly it was who had the following idea, but SOMEONE in control of the season wanted the movie's release to coincide with the exact moment it occurs in the season, because naturally a big MHA fan would be following both right when they come out (because capitalism). But there was a problem. ..... the pacing of the anime did not match the movie's release date. The events would occur way sooner than that, so the director called for a bit of a slower pace in the recent episodes. This resulted in a major fan-favorite arc from the manga being postponed until after the Internship arc, and then for good measure they put in a filler ep, THIS ONE, in the middle of it. Aside from that rival student who could gain intelligence from drinking tea from Season 4, MHA's anime NEVER inserted a filler episode in the middle of a season- they usually ran it at the beginning of one. Also, if I remember correctly, this filler episode ends with a cliffhanger featuring shadowy new figures from the movie as prelude to it. Figures that, you guessed it, never appear in the anime series. The odd pacing and apparent absence of this upcoming arc left many fans confused and outraged. An anituber I followed went so far as to rebel and make videos of himself reading the manga instead.

Time to get frustrated.

This ep is filler, but the steroid is not.

I know, but I didn't get the impression it would ever be relevant again.  But since this is a filler episode that doesn't change my prediction at all, since it has no bearing on anything.  I guess those traitor heroes could all be using the steroid, but I doubt it.
