Yeah but this is being used as the reason to force the ceasefire.  For such a major plot point and turning point I think we should have had some sort of hint before this.

...So why, if he had control of revival fluid, did he not simply go straight for his sister to begin with?

Tsukasa has always had flawed character motivation. Starting to see a trend here of poorly thought out characterization that comes back to bite the writers in the ass when they actually have to justify it.

Because he not smart like Senku he wouldn't know where to find her.

Didn't Tsukasa lead them to the hospital?  I guess they wouldn't have been able to get through rock easily without dynamite (if the rock would even form that fast), but still.

I'd guess that what we will see from here on out will be Tsukasa plotting something to further his (evil) agenda and Senku and co. using science to thwart Tsukasa without violating the ceasefire.

In essence, things will probably be two and three episode mini arcs/plots and thus much easier to write.

Just a guess, I haven't read anything or seen anything beyond what has already aired.
