Jman
This is the equivalent of Mark Ruffalo finding Hulk hands to mess with and it’s amazing, but it also speaks to AS not being the primary source even more.

I'm not really sure how many non-anime fans subscribe to funimation now though DB Became so huge because it was accessible to anyone with cable and today you still have people that fawn over the franchise as a result unless you are already into anime....MHA is something you can't just jump into Edited May 10, 2021 by CountFrylock

Sketch
Hulu is probably where the majority of dub watchers discovered MHA but I think a lot of the fans watch it subbed on Crunchyroll at this point.

Funny how Funimation is credited at the beginning of every episode yet few bother to go watch it on the actual Funimation website. It's 2021! Don't they know every one has a website!? PokeNirvash
Probably 'cause FUNimation's website sucks. I've only ever used it to watch Initial D Third Stage and that's it.

What are you talking about?

What are you talking about? because it all depends on hulu and if they routinely advertise anime on the app like netflix does If not then I'd wonder how someone just stumble upon it most non-anime fans need someone who is an anime fan to direct them to the stuff otherwise they probably wouldn't think to check it out they don't keep up with trends or what's new and they certainly don't pay any attention to whatever anime merchandise they may stumble across at the local walmart because they really don't know anything about anime or what's even considered good Dragon Ball had the advantage of people just randomly channel surfing and landing on that when it aired... Newer Anime though with streaming more often than not You Already know what you are gonna watch and If You've never seen any anime before then I'm not really sure You'd choose to watch it over anything else on netflix or hulu without prior knowledge Edited May 16, 2021 by CountFrylock

Newer Anime though with streaming more often than not You Already know what you are gonna watch and If You've never seen any anime before then I'm not really sure You'd choose to watch it over anything else on netflix or hulu without prior knowledge Netflix definitely promotes anime. I get anime promoted to me on Hulu, but I don't know if that's because I already watched some anime on it before or not. Although, a lot of the stuff that has been promoted is not stuff I would watch, so whether the recommendations are because of what I already watched or just "HEY WATCH THIS ANIME," it seems like pretty generic recommendations. But it's there. I seem to recall some years ago, some anime series were among the top watched shows on Hulu. I don't know if that's still the case now or if Hulu still reveals the top watched shows. But, it seems pretty silly to go off on a whole diatribe off of something you don't even know is true or not. All I could find was this Reddit thread when I did a google search for "Does Hulu promote anime?" For some reason most of the results are about the various business deals and mergers and other corporate shenanigans. This is from 2016, so no idea if it's still accurate. Pretty funny though that guy wanted a setting so that he wouldn't have anime promoted to him! But, this tells me, (again if it still works this way,) they will promote anime to you, whether you have watched any or not, but probably more if you do watch anime. But man, some people really don't want to watch anything that isn't American or in English! Although, about streaming in general, you are right. I sound like an old man here, but it's not like channel surfing, looking at the channel guide, or the TV guide channel in the old days, or the Preview Channel or whatever it was called before TV Guide took it over, or even going to a video store. In those cases you would stumble on something you never would have watched otherwise. With streaming, in most cases, you already know what you want to watch, and then you go look for it and go watch it and that's it.
