the art is also much uglier.....but that's becase it's closer to the manga.....and the manga is really ugly

I'm not noticing anything that much different about the art.  But I haven't seen the other seasons in a while and it's not like this is my favorite show.

I think it's more in between since it still have some of the anime styling and I don't think it looks ugly and at times looks close to the past seasons. But at the same time having loved the look of the past seasons I would have liked to see these older versions get designed by the character designer of S1-3 since they did such a great job on the past seasons and they'd obviously be tweaked compared to these. We'd been watching the anime not the manga for these three seasons so just being closer to the manga is not "better" by default.

it's become a general opinion that just "being closer to the manga" is better than being a good adaption

but personally....90's Sailor Moon is a gift and Crystal is *literal shit* so that is absolutely not always true

Yeah, personally I never read the manga so I strongly preferred WIT's anime designs even after seeing it.

I preffered WIT's designs because they reminded me of Yusuke Nakano's Legend of Zelda Art

which IMO should have been the Zelda Franchise's permanent art style rather than them using it for 3 games then deciding they should use "Wackier" more Mario like art for all the future games

You mean Wind Waker? Wind Waker was awesome.

So the mission got botched early.  How did Marcel get eaten?

Reiner and Annie both snapped damn.

As shown in Ymir's big reveal flashack. Ymir got buried under the ground when she didn't move for years. Her mindless Titan form woke up from them camping nearby and she attacked in order to try and eat one of them like all mindless Titans. Marcel pushed Reiner out of the way and got eaten. Which turned Ymir into a shifter (since Marcel had the Jaws Titan) giving her her humanity back.

it happened. why would he have imagined it?

dads run away. it's what they do.

I don't know. The way this jumping around and how crazy Reiner is acting it's hard to tell.

Well, I'm kind of glad my father didn't have much to do with me since he was a scumbag anyways.

Oh ok.  Been a while since we saw that.
