Not surprising.  Anime seems to be becoming a more mainstream and acceptable form of entertainment in the United States than it was in the past.  I'd argue that the pandemic and more people out of work for the time does contribute heavily to those numbers, though.

expected. Everyone is home, and anime has been gaining popularity more and more for years.

Network execs: make all cartoons LOL RANDUM comedy based and get rid of anime, kids hate action shows now

Alice in Borderland seems to be taking off because of the Netflix show.

 

And it's about damn time.

That's cool.  I've watched a lot of anime on Netflix.  Currently watching Saiki and Great Pretender there.

I honestly watch more Asian dramas on Netflix than anime, but I know the COVID times helped to get people to notice some of their animation like Avatar and Blood of Zeus.
