Ghost cats

On fathers day my dads gf asked if I would feed her cats while they went on a trip. So the past week I've been feeding the cats. They're shy so I just go into the house put the food and water out then leave. So four days of this. Though I noticed not a lot of the food is getting eaten. Like I give them a full bowl and 3/4th of it will be gone. In the past they'd leave nothing left. So I messaged my dad about it. He said that she changed her mind and brought the cats to the cabin....So wtf have I been feeding? Dad just told me don't worry about it and to stop putting food out. I'd have some concern that there is something in the house that is eating over a cup of cat food a day, but my house is haunted as fuck so I assume it's ghost cats.

Some other critter.  The only way to know for certain would be to set up a trap camera aimed at the food dish.  I'm guessing raccoon or opossum, though a skunk might not be out of the question.

If it is one it's really neat, because it doesn't toss the bowl or tare into the food bag. Also not finishing the food would be odd. Could be a baby though. I had a baby Opossum on the trash can outside. It makes hiss sounds when I pet it, but then gets chill when I feed it cat food.

@tsar4 tell me more

I was in my 20's.  We had 3 cats, 2 males & a female.  The males weren't fixed and would fight.  The Siamese (Peanuts, after the comic strip) became very ill and had to be put to sleep.

I would hang out with friends & get home around 11 pm.  I noticed that at around that time, the other male would start running around crying & generally acting goofy.  One night, I got home & went up to my room, shutting & locking the door behind me.  After a bit, the other male started acting up again.  I didn't think much of it.  I get into bed and the next thing I know, it feels like the cat has jumped on my bed and is walking up the side of the bed behind me.  At first I though, "darn it, I forgot to shut & lock my door"...then it dawns on me that I distinctly recall doing just that and that I can still hear the male cat running around & crying downstairs.  I turn on my light and there's nothing on the bed beside me.

I did not fall asleep & dream it, as it had only been 5 minutes max between my getting into bed and realizing that the other cat could still be heard downstairs.  Peanuts had been bought as a gift for me when I was about 6 yrs old.  I guess he was just checking up on me.

Sounds nicer than whatever the fuck ghosts I had to deal with last month. I have ghost shit that happens at my place all the time, I'm pretty used to crap just moving, or water turning on and toilets flushing. Though the one night I let the dogs out for a moment to go to the bathroom, while I waited for the sink to fill for dishes. Let the dogs back in and put them in their pen for the night. Started washing dishes, when I saw the dogs sitting outside of the glass door of the kitchen. I went to check to make sure I didn't leave the door open or what, but the dogs were still inside of their pen with the door shut. I go back to the kitchen and the dogs outside were gone, but there was a human hand print on the door glass.
