MIL cell number

so, yesterday my mother in law was picking up some prescription drugs from a local pharmacy here. An older guy, in his 60s, makes a weirs BLM comment to her, she says she didn't really respond and he started telling her that she needed to read Candace Owen's, blah blah blah...

She ignored him for the most part, she got her drugs and left. Later, she got a text message from the guy and links to Candace Owen's articles. She only knew it was him because he flat out identified himself as meeting at the store.

They called the cell phone company and blocked the number. But, I'm racking my brain on how he would have got her number. She has zero online presence, doesn't work and hasn't really worked since the 80s. She doesn't use a computer or anything.

Outside of the guy lifting her name when she paid for the drugs and knows someone at ATT to get it..... no clue how he got it. This number was never landline number either.

There it is... any thoughts?

He possibly gleaned some info while she was getting her prescriptions filled.

And if he has her name and general location, he could easily go online and try and outright buy her info. I've done this myself to contact an estranged relative. Was scary how easy it was to get his number with only his name and city/state.

I thought of this too, but you would have to have some kind of digital footprint I thought.

Her cell plan is on my family plan too.... so... i just don't know.

The phone itself may be enough of a footprint.

Well you have a cell phone plan so theres likely a contract and digital info tied to that. May be more than enough for one of those services to have all of her info.

My mom goes to a local pharmacy back home and always has for as long as I can remember...She's never changed her phone number and they pull up her account with her number....Sometime they don't ask because they know her, but new techs have to ask and she just recites it.  I would assume it's as simple as that but I don't know how they operate at your mil's spot.

Yeah the only way would be from a breach of personal information at the pharmacy....I do recommend she call the pharmacy manager
