I'll start this off by saying that I'm in editing mode, so my tv brain is bitchier than usual.

Why oh why is it so hard for Netflix to make another Marvel show that is equal to Daredevil S1? The fights have never been as good, the pacing in the second half is still wonky even with only eight episodes, and they keep dropping the ball when it comes to villains.

Defenders was off to a good start in the first couple episodes but everything ended up feeling like, 'Been there, done that.' We've had the rich loner baddie in nice outfits who's lost the confidence of their partners and the 'surprise' murder near the end. One thing it didn't have that the other shows did(excluding Iron Fist because I'm never watching that shit) was the ability to get me wrapped up in the show's setting. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage all had a special atmosphere about them that could suck in the viewer. Defenders didn't have that which is why I noticed so many of its flaws. Danny's fights were an improvement from the clips I've seen, but there were too many terribly lit fights and jump cuts. Having to squint and figure out who's fighting who is annoying as fuck. Hectic fights in the dark aren't bad, but it takes skill to pull them off. And don't get me started on that underground elevator because Jesus the CGI was terrible.

The main heroes' personalities are why I stuck it out. Jessica Jones is always fun to watch, and I like the dynamic between her and Matt. Surprisingly, Danny is less annoying when he's paired with Luke. The next Defenders needs to figure out how to properly utilize the combined sidekicks because most of them felt wasted or unnecessary.

it was cool. wish it was better. like a better script. and more in-depth and shit. also, TV villians, The Hand, fucking sucks. Comic book counter-part, The Hand, were much much better. well pretty much everything is better in their comic book counter-part. plus, "the Substance" is never explained at all nor the giant remains of bones of what i'm suspecting is dragon bones. other than that they're mystical and substance. 6/10 because of the dope soundtrack and fight scenes and random moments that redeem this terrible start of the defenders.

he is the immortal iron fist!  >:(

Yeah, I know, he wouldn't shut up about it....it was like his catch phrase....

you know what, it's fine....three out of four is not bad....I think Netflix sorta spoiled me and I forgot what it used to be like
