Guest LytKing Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 It looks like an anime feature length but I never heard of it. Anyone know if it's worth "renting"? Quote

I assumed O Maidens in Your Savage Season was going to be my first main exposure to the sordid dungeon that is her mind palace, but her pen has touched so many other melodramas over the past decade. Hanasaku Iroha, Anohana, Toradora, Fractale, Black Butler, and so many other anime that went off the rails. Quote
PokeNirvash Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 I've generally been good with Mari Okada's works. Sure, they're melodramatic out the ass, but I've typically found myself liking her shows by the time they reached the end, especially Pet Girl of Sakurasou and Gundam IBO. I also enjoyed the snippet of her autobiography recounting her time working on DT Eightron and Angel Tales (while avoiding explicitly mentioning either by name). It's just that there's such a negative stigma around her works by fans not used to melodramas and trainwrecks that it's kind of hard to vouch for her successfully. Quote
Dark_Cloud_Overhead Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 I watched it just a little while ago. I was a bit underwhelmed at first, as it's fairly slow paced and there isn't much action, but by the end I changed my mind. It was actually pretty damn good, so I'd recommend checking it out. Quote
Gina Szanboti Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 It's a wonderful movie. You'll hate it. Don't waste your time. 3 Quote

Gina Szanboti Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Because it's all about the feels. From what I've observed, you don't have any, so you'd be bored and unable to relate to the characters. 1 Quote
Cidz Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 i really enjoyed it. but its not very actioney. i loved that it was about a mother and son relationship that didnt turn incestual in the end. very heartwarming and sad. 1 Quote
