Did this show ever confirm that Jiren is that universe' Vegeta?

actually Top was that universe's Vegeta, Jiren is basically their Goku, hence why Top was defeatable and Jiren isn't

and they never "confirmed" it, it's just obvious looking at the comparisons, like Top telling Vegeta theyr'e both second fiddles to a greater hero

Yeah no.

the primary reason they couldn't beat Beerus was because of his destroyer god energy....which vegeta is now able to negate when in Super Saiyan Blue 2

he can beat Beerus

also, ironically, the one fight he actually gets to participate in in the Super manga is an extra fight where he asks for a rematch against Beerus, and Beerus after defeating him, is shown to be upset, because vegeta actually did some real damage to him and is getting close to beating him

honestly between the voice actor drama, Schemmel being outed as a homophobe, and the piss poor quality of this installment of the franchise....it might be time for DB to end as a franchise, and I'll be happy when this series is over

Eh I wouldn't say that clip makes Schemmel a homophobe.  I don't think he said that out of malice.  But even with the clip out of context, seemed like a bad joke.  Doesn't make what he said okay, of course.

Lots of people used to talk like that years ago, but we know better now, of course.  Back when I was in high school in the late 90s/early 2000s, I would describe the definition as... cowardly douche?  Like, if someone called someone out to a fight and then didn't show up, that person would get called the f-word, or bitch, etc.  I can't remember it being used on actual gay people, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen.  I also recall Eminem's popularity at the time.  He wasn't using it in the anti-gay sense either, I don't think.  Of course, like I said, people have learned in the years since then to remove it from their vocabulary.  That Schemmel clip was about that old, right?  Again not saying it excuses it, but it's way different than if he were talking like that in 2019.

Also good to remember this stuff was leaked by Nick Rekieta... to somehow help Vic?  Though not sure how making the other Funimation VAs look bad (for other reasons) is somehow supposed to make Vic less of a creep.

As for Super's quality.  I will say that though GT doesn't have the highs that Super has, it certainly doesn't have its lows, and not nearly the padding, it was overall a pretty solid "what-if" sequel series.  And at least GT didn't fuck up Goku's personality.  But yeah, sequels...be careful what you wish for.

Yeah it was a joke.  And I don't think making that, albeit bad, and insensitive, joke, makes Sean Schemmel a homophobe.

I pal around with my buds. It's natural to lose track of time and live in the present, especially during boring times at work or after work! I remember I have done it at times. I'm sure you do it. Everyone does it!  It's just that values change overtime depending on what happens in the world and how our perceptions change.

To Mochi anyone who utters a word against a gay person is evil forever.
