I'm either going to take this to mean I have a small penis or infer that 2 alien androids touching each other is no longer fap material among the kids these days.

It was the penis one =P

I noticed Wikipedia updated it earlier with his name, but ANN hasn't reported it yet. I'm guessing they're still writing up the article detailing his history in the industry. If they bothered to do it with the color designer, you know they're gonna do it with the director.

Another death, making it 35 now.  He was only in his 20s. :(

In a bit of less depressing news, Honobu Yonezawa, the author of the Hyouka novels, donated about $9,200 to the relief fund.  So that was nice.

Why don't we have any crying emojis?  Are we too manly to shed tears over anything?

One of the 5 big emojis you can choose in any post in a crying one.

But I can't put that in a post.  Well, I can, but I have to make it smaller and it has a dot and a link included, which I don't want.  Why can't we just have a regular one in the list? T.T

oh. NO these are reactions. You can only put those on the side of a post, and not your own.

Well, we have this one - 😥 - and this one - 😪 - but they aren't as good at conveying depressed sadness as the teary-eyed dude in the reactions corner.

We do?  Where do we have those?  They're not under the emoji on the toolbar.

You don't have a toolbar with a billion emojis?

Uuuuh so updates.

Apparently, the suspect DID submit a novel to their contest, because they uncovered information of a novel he wrote mailed from the same address as his apartment! It lost in the first round. I don't know if that means the president misspoke, or if there was another mistranslation.

KyoAni's local fundraiser raised 1 billion yen in its first week!

Or he just didn't remember the name of someone whose work didn't even make it into the first round, however long ago.  He probably doesn't remember all the names of all the authors who submitted to the last contest and made it into the semi-finals.  I'm sure they get dozens if not hundreds of submissions each year.

Fuji TV made a flub, while interviewing a friend of the deceased director. other than that, i'm guessing the investigation is going to take awhile. also, donations to help Kyoto Animation topped off at ¥1.6 billion.

check the megathread for details and such.

KyoAni's public announcement of changes to their events.  Or rather, 100% of them either canceled or suspended, including their famous KyoAni Awards that they now get all their original IPs from. Yikes.

it's not like they're going to lose on making new IPs or cash flow. they're still in a state of mourning and will take time to re-adjust and resume their operations in due time. we'll just have to wait for future announcements when things goes back to normal.

The arsonist has a history of mental illness. Lawyers remarked today that if they can prove that he wasn't himself and under a deranged period of trauma during the arson attack, then there is a good possibility he will be declared innocent and therefore will not face the death penalty.

They should cut his head off with a katana after stabbing him in the chest with the short sword.

Excuse me.

I haven't hugged my fake puppies yet.

Oh, google translate.  I tried page translation and kept coming across people having worked on something called "Shape of the Samurai."  I could not imagine what that was, so I copied the characters (聲の形) and just fed them to Translate, which yielded "形shape" in English. oO  After listening to the lady pronounce it, I finally figured out it was "A Silent Voice," which in Japanese I guess is "The Shape of the Voice" or so.  Apparently google was just pulling the 士 radical (samurai) out of (koe/voice) and running with that.  smh

I guess I'll wait for ANN to do their follow up in depth for these people and their work.

Would you happen to know a man by the name of Marshall Banana? We met in the afterlife school. He seemed to be involved in some sort of strange cult and at one point drank too much cool aid, which is why he ended up here.

He mentioned your name while we were playing tennis one day.

Any relation?
