Slowly making progress. Haven't even started the kitchen yet and I know that's probably gonna be the biggest pain in the ass. I think we'll be okay though. Especially since we're moving June 1 but have this place until the end of June so all the small odds and ends can stay behind for now if need be.

Trying to get a quote for a mover. One place gave me an estimate of 990-1150 which seems high but I reserved the date just in case we can't find anyone else on such short notice. They say they can refund the deposit if I change my mind so hopefully that's true.

Also this is now my general complaint/progress about moving thread for the next 2 weeks until we actually move.

I can't even imagine having so much stuff that packing is an entire ordeal. When I helped my mom move many years ago, I was like "How do you have so much shit?"

Even now, I can carry all of my worldly belongings in three, maybe four bags.

the people who moved my stuff did it for $600ish if i remember correctly

I think that's about what we paid last time and it took FOREVER then. We have more shit now but I'm really hoping we get a better estimate elsewhere. Some guy is coming over tomorrow to give us an estimate and I think Kidney contacted one or two places as well.

I do love my stuff. Capitalism sure is great.

Storage closet fully packed and ready to go. Only like 5 boxes worth of Christmas/Halloween decorations in there but it's something.

Still a shit-ton more to go. Hoping to knock out the living room this weekend aside from the few things we'll need until the day we move. And start the kitchen which I know is gonna be the biggest pain in the ass.

My next move will be #27.  No plans for it yet, but the time will come someday.

That's a lot. Not counting college I've moved 3 times in my life and even that's too much for me.

Oh god we need so many more boxes. I knew the stuff I got from U-Haul the other day was just gonna be a start but we only have 1 large and 2 medium boxes left and haven't even started the kitchen other than our drinking glasses.

So I'm pretty sure my college diploma is still somewhere in my apartment but I can't seem to find it. The living room is mostly packed which is where I thought I put it but idk

moving sucks balls

I'm looking forward to having a new place with more space and central air. But yeah the actual act of moving sucks

Living room is basically done, just a couple random items left in there and of course the stuff we'll still need up until moving day.

WHY SO WE HAVE SO MANY MICRO-USB CABLES

Living room is DONE aside from some Nintendo Switch stuff and the things we'll need up until moving day. Threw some shit away that was on the dining room table, should be able to finish cleaning it off tomorrow and throw the few things that we need into a small box.

Made a little progress on the kitchen but still dreading packing all that shit. Also I know I kept 4 plastic cups unpacked so we could use them until moving day but now I CAN ONLY FIND 3.

And still no diploma to be found.

So I got 3 boxes packed in the kitchen today but just by looking at the kitchen it looks like I've made no progress. Like I guess that's to be expected because a lot of what I packed was in cabinets and a lot of the stuff that's out in the open is food which will either be tossed or just thrown in bags day of and taken with us in our cars.

Pots and pans weren't quite as bad as I thought, we have less stuff than I thought. Will maybe try to find a long, flat box for the big pans or maybe just carry them or something.

Should I ever bother to put the cast iron skillet in a box? It's so big and heavy it would basically need it's own box. Maybe I'll throw it in with the silverware when I pack that.

Kitchen is as done as it's gonna be until the night before we move, I think. I want to leave a few things there for cooking before we move, and some things are just too big to fit in a box. Kitchen was probably the worst room to pack out of any, my bedroom should be pretty easy and then all the stuff on my desk can just be thrown into a box.

Movers were almost 2 hours late so that's cool. I can hear Gordon meowing from across the parking lot and then when I'm inside he scratches at the bedroom door where he's closed in hopefully not damaging it too much

Almost done I think maybe not idk is anyone ever really "ready" to move?

Yes. It's much easier without so much stuff and a pet.
