Blatch
We have a new champion for the longest marathon in Toonami history. Alas, nobody cared enough to post about it the day of its announcement. Considering the surprise half-hour extension, this could be a way for them to expand the block without abruptly adding a show. And if it does go longer in January, I have the perfect show in mind for them to air.
Jman
It’s Christmas weekend. Do ratings even count that week?
OwlChemist81
Yes. Ok, so we're going back 15 episodes--what will that entail? We'll get to Episode 91 before the marathon, so going back 15 episodes would be 77-91. That's all of the Tournament of Power arc so far, right? I believe the last episode of the previous arc was 76, right?
Daos
A marathon of the worst episodes of Super.. doh. And it will still do at least double the ratings of the AOT marathon.
mochi
well that gives me another week to not have to worry about watching Toonami (''>_>'')
Blatch
And now we have the other marathon choice: I'm shocked they didn't choose any FLCL series. Progressive and Alternative together would've been a golden choice, even if it doesn't take up the entire time. Neither is the Boruto marathon, because it doesn't have enough episodes, but nobody will complain about keeping the reruns. Now go... go ignore Toonami for a few weeks. This fandom could be so much better when we come back.
OwlChemist81
How in the hell are they gonna do a Boruto marathon!? Only 11 episodes of the show will be out by then...
Blatch
I alluded to this in the adjacent post, but if you glossed it over, the rest of the schedule from 2:30 on is the same.
OwlChemist81
Oh. So that means Gundam IBO S2 plays one episode, takes a break for Christmas eve eve eve, then comes back for New Year's Eve Eve Eve!?
ben0119
Is that December or Dismember? Yaaayy~ Not. At least we can't complain too much, because even as indoor a holiday as Christmas might be, everyone isn't as parked in front of the TV to the same degree they are around Thanskgiving, watching parades, football, holiday specials and movies, etc. People might be having Christmas parties or begrudgingly actually spending time with family. Grinchiness already developing in my family and the matriarch isn't even gone yet! At least wait til she's gone for the family to fall apart! Come on people! New Year's Eve is most definitely not a indoor-only holiday and there will be lots of people out and about or at the very least not watching their regular stuff. So no issues there. And yeah build up episodes to the tournament in Super. Ehhh not the best choice. Is Toonami always locked into just playing the most recent episodes for marathons, I wonder? Still, Boruto, really? More like Bore-ruto, Blah-ruto, or Boo-ruto, am I right? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (I was saying Booooo-ruto.)
The1gairon
.... is this.... did I not see this new thread all day yesterday?? Did I just NOT bother to manually navigate to this section to see it since yesterday morning? ugh whatever I have no investment in it. ... wait AAAAAND a Boruto marathon the week after?? What about Naruto? I suppose their logic is that Naruto is the older show so less people who care?

CountFrylock
sometimes i get this sense that demarco thinks we don't have any other option but to wait for the block to return......also unless you live in A Big City New York's Eve/Day is just another day it's certainly not one where you are too busy to do anything else
OwlChemist81
What the hell are you talking about? New Year's Eve is a BIG DAMN DEAL in New York City! But you do have a point. Airing special programming on the 22nd and 29th does sound kind of silly.
