Black Clover Page 46 Discussion

Last time on Black Clover, after Luck and Magna's combined attack left the Eye of the Midnight Sun's beastman seemingly unscathed, Asta and his former opponent jumped into the fray.  Their attacks also left the beastman wanting for WORTHY COMPETITION.  And the Beastman knew what Asta's swords were and what they were called?  At the last minute, Noelle and Kahono showed up.  Will they succeed where the other heroes failed?

A thought occurs about this show: The first season has 51 episodes. We're on 46 tonight. Would Toonami actually be crazy enough to let the normal lineup play on December 22nd to get it in before the end of the year!?

.........I kinda hope so then we can replace it with something animated a little better

Not sure if you can call it a season at 51 episodes when they decided to lengthen it instead of taking a break.

Noelle... Kahono told you to use your power and not doubt yourself.

"You're strong enough to handle it now, because you're fighting to win.  It will be alright, don't doubt it, because I say so, and I'm your friend, and I say so.  It will be ok." Kahono... T__T

Noelle finally using her power!

Wow, blasted him with the sea dragon and took his arm off.  I was hoping it carried him to the ocean and drowned him.

HE'S NOT DYING?!  REGENERATING AND TRANDORMING?!  GOD DAMN IT JUST DIE YOU FUCKER!

Mythical beast power?

Used up all her magic.  Damn it.

Asta is back up?!  Blocked the shot with his sword.

Not all Royals are parasitic pieces of shit, Vetto.  Noelle is good people, as are the Vermillions.

"There's no shame in being weak.  The only shame is in staying weak!"  Fuegolian!

Licht's people genocided at his wedding?  Well, at least a good number of them.  That looked like light magic though...

Blew his whole arm off, impressive

And part of his torso.

Welp, can't let her win though huh?

Yeah, that was annoying.  Still Noelle was impressive here, and it was a sweet moment with the flashback to Fuegolian and her thinking of her friends, and what Kahono told her.  So much build up to this and it was done well.  At least maybe it can be a team effort.  And far better than other series would give us.

Also the whole main character thing which I wish didn't so often have to be such a hard fast rule with shonen.  But is Vetto even considered a big bad?  I mean, Licht is the leader, but Vetto is more powerful.  That's kind of weird, and isn't something often seen, for whatever that's worth.

Who?

Oh, I was talking about Noelle and Kahono's arrival at the fight at the beginning of the ep.

Before they showed up at the cliffhanger last week (and the opening moment of this week that recapped it) I think when we last saw a shot of them they were still handing around the spot where they had been having their test fight back when Asta and Magna got their and started joining the fight again this guy. I don't recall seeing a shot of them run toward the main fight like we got of Asta and Magna rushing to join in the fight once this villain guy arrived and broke in.

Yeah it was quite good. I agree.

Yeah, that is a bit weird. Also that they're fighting him after Licht and not before. Usually it's the other way around.

Y'know, for a while there, I almost thought Song and Dance were gonna be the winners, just to hit the "music soothes the savage beast" trope.

But then they started going on about hopes and dreams, and it was all pretty obvious it was setting them up for the big defeat. Has any show ever started in with that shit without following up with the other guy just totally wrecking, just to prove a point that "hopes and dreams" don't mean shit?
