This recent character made me think of Haruko with some of her expressions

This show could use a dub if it ever gets licensed, was a great show.

Yup. :)

BBK/BRNK (or Bubuki/Buranki). Good show worth checking out. Currently sub only on Crunchy Roll until it hopefully eventually gets picked up.

Group of characters with special weapons and a big mecha.

Art director from Kill la Kill so the background art, sharp color work, and special effects style very much have his touch. As do some of the story beats actually.

I'm not too keen on CGI anime but Land of the Lustrous made me like it more.

Yeah, it can be hit or miss. Land of the Lustrous was good with it.

This show is in between, sometimes it's very good with it sometimes it can be a little choppy. One of the cool things it does though is that it starts pushing the envelope on being able to do some of the cool "squash and stretch" that makes 2D animation so dynamic. The cell shading is really good though, also sometimes it looks like a Ghibli film with some of the big nature shots and sometimes it's got KLK's flair.

Not as good as the original, but I still enjoyed watching both of these. Both had some good stuff and some nice characters.

Not to mention getting Jinyu who I loved in Progressive.
